Kooky and NSFW homebrew Nintendo DS games from France

I’ve no idea why France has a much more active homebrew scene than most other countries, but it makes weird games like the ones I’m about to share with you possible.

A group at Dev-FR participated in a recent DS game coding competition based on the theme of “swimsuits.” Here are three strange games that came out of the contest:

The Curse Of Mamie’s Island by Zewhitounet

I know you’re supposed to feed the giant head here by snapping people’s underwear and flinging them into the ocean monster’s mouth, but other than that, the concept behind this is lost on me. There’s some Benny Hill music, Rabbids sound effects, an altered Curse of Monkey Island logo, and a Mr. Freeze treat — what does it all mean?

SwimSuit Maniac by EvilTroopa

This one makes a little more sense: Gollum is stamping around in his purple wizard pants at a beach, and in order to pull the tops of the crudely drawn women around him, you need to quickly enter a button combination before the timer runs out.

Airslip by Cladil & C@illou

A simple vertical-scrolling shoot’em up in which a pair of briefs underwear blasts away bikini bottoms.

So, that’s what’s going on in France right now.
