In a statement responding to Activision’s announcement of Science Papa, fictional character Cooking Mama reminded fans that she is “happily married.”

But who is Mama married to?

It’s this guy. Back in 2007, I did a post on DS Fanboy about the character and a release of some other Cooking Mama 2 art (from Dengeki, obviously). As I was working on the post, the character art for Papa changed from the piece on the left to the piece on the right. Maybe in the intervening period, Papa lost his job, thus obviating the need for the suit. It would also explain why the pair eats all their meals at home.

Science Papa had better know how lucky he is to have a job in academia.
