Atlus — god bless that company’s soul — revealed it is localizing Shiren the Wanderer Wii (known as Shiren the Wanderer 3: Sleeping Princess in the Clockwork Palace in Japan) for a North American release in 2010.

As much as I doubted that Shiren the Wanderer 2 DS wouuld ever release stateside, I was absolutely certain this Wii game was not in the stars — well, our stars, at least.

This was me when I read about the news:

Anyway, basic details about the game:

• 3D graphics, unlike the DS games
• Introduces o-fuda talismans to the series (Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja had these)
• Online rescue system returns, but the Wii game also has online leaderboards, pot trading, and a multiplayer versus mode
• Received a 35/40 (9/9/8/9) score from Famitsu, unusually high for such a niche title
• Likely to be the most difficult “RPG” available for Wii, possibly for any other current generation system

I hope Atlus brings over the Koppa Wii remote stand! I wouldn’t mind paying extra for this roguelike, seeing as Atlus plans to price it at $39.99, which is a little cheaper than most other Wii titles.
