Blade Buster, a new NES/FC homebrew shoot’em up from Japanese doujin group High Level Challenge Project. You can download the ROM here (NES emulator required).
It’s a two-minute score attack/”caravan”-style game, meaning it’s a short shmup that’s more about getting as high a score as possible (and as far as possible without dying) rather than trying to get to the end.
If you’ve ever played Arika’s Metal Torrent (Aa Mujou Setsuna) on DSiWare or Hudson’s Star Soldier R on WiiWare, you’re already familiar with this type of game!
