Art for Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this title for the game Square Enix teased all week, but it looks like this has nothing to do with the acclaimed and similarly named Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Final Fantasy Adventure, Mysic Quest in the U.S., Europe).
This will be a standard menu-driven RPG — not an action RPG like the Game Boy release — in which you control a party of up to four (naturally) characters.
Revealing the game’s Japanese release date as Fall 2009, IGN translated details from the latest Weekly Jump:
“[The game] is a DS RPG in which players take control of a 14-year-old boy tasked with saving a princess. The game kicks off on your birthday as you’re summoned by a king whose daughter has been kidnapped by a witch. …
Of particular note in the battle system is the lack of MP and the presence of a Charge command next to standard fight and item commands.”
