Space Bust-A-Move trailer. I’m more excited about this game than I should be — after all, it’s just another Bust-A-Move game, a series that includes dozens of releases with little variance. I can’t even take advantage of its Taito paddle support, as I have neither the import accessory or the GBA slot to push it into.
The game, however, comes closes to approximating a portable version of my all-time favorite but now defunct Bust-A-Move game, Japanese PC MMO Puzzle Bobble Online, as it has four-player online battles. Why doesn’t the recent WiiWare game support online multiplayer?
It also features boxart that isn’t so terrible I want to die:

Plus, the game has a robot cat and “a lonesome cowboy” as playable characters, and a plot reminscent of Star Wars: A New Hope’s “Save me, Obi Wan Kenobi” setup.
Lancarse, which developed The Legend of Kage 2 and helped with Etrian Odyssey, is working on this, so chances are this is at least decent. You can play a short demo for Space Bust-A-Move here.
