

The Kaiju Busters team on a monster hunting expedition.
I ignored Kaiju Busters when Namco Bandai announced the game in July, dismissing it as yet another Monster Hunter clone from Japan, which it totally is. The cooperative multiplayer with varied classes, 500+ weapons to collect, and 300+ missions are nice, but several other titles share the same bullet list of features.
Closer inspection, though, identified two essential details:

The proposition of playing as a dude in a tie teaming up with other tie-wearing dudes and trying to take down a skyscraper-sized beast fulfills a fantasy I never knew I had. Yes, Earth Defense Force 2017 had a similar premise but no ties! Here’s a trailer I should’ve posted months ago:
