Pokemon Dream Radar screenshot, showing the “Dream Clouds” in which the Pokemon hide. New gameplay details on the official website, translated by Andriasang, reveal the setting and gameplay for the AR shooting game.
You’re doing research in “Dream Valley,” which also happens to be the coincidental location of your living room or whatever location you’re playing the game in (???), and you have to search for new Pokemon within these Dream Clouds, by shooting the clouds and then fixing a beam on the Pokemon.
Seems kind of weird to make an AR game and then invent a story that requires you to ignore all the “real” things on the screen. But I like AR shooting games a bunch, and it’s not like I ever asked for an airtight narrative in a Pokemon game.
