NSFW: Vanillaware’s “Three Graces”

Vanillaware founder and president George Kamitani, who also created the lovely/scandalous Muramasa cover for Play magazine last August, painted this scene of “The Three Graces” for his company’s site. I’ve cropped out the naughty bits in the image above, but you can see the full painting and nude figures after the break.
The Three Graces, or Charites, were the Greek and Roman goddesses of charm and beauty. Vanillaware’s previous titles adapted stories from Norse mythology, Japanese kabuki plays and folk tales, and, um, bear girls; could this painting indicate that the studio is researching Greek or Roman mythology for its next title?

After linking me to the alluring piece, my cohort Mr. Fletcher astutely commented, “Dude can paint asses.” There’s no doubt in my mind now that Kamitani designed the booty clapping demoness in Muramasa.
