More Nintendo news than I know what to do with (and a president Iwata comic)

I didn’t expect Nintendo to price the DSi XL equally with the standard DSi, but $189 just strikes me as a very expensive proposition when said out loud. One hundred eighty nine dollars. For a Nintendo handheld. It actually makes the $169 DSi sound like a bargain!

Anyway, here’s the noteworthy news/dates from today’s Nintendo Media Summit that I scrounged up:

• Nintendo will publish Dragon Quest IX in the U.S.
• Cave Story hits WiiWare on March 22nd, just as I always predicted. Oh, and those five downloadable/paid bonus modes (e.g. Boss Rush Mode, Sanctuary Time Attack)? Nicalis integrated them into the game and made them free!
• Super Mario Galaxy 2 hits May 23rd, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor hits June 7th. Metroid: Other M is on June 27th.

• WarioWare D.I.Y. launches March 28th, same week as DSi XL. Expect Picross 3D on May 3rd. And 100 Classics Book (remember that?) is on its way here.
• Two new Art Style games for WiiWare: Light Trax and Rotozoa (both from Skip maybe?).
• Mega Man 10 is dated for March 1st. Indie titles And Yet It Moves and Super Meat Boy will also show up on WiiWare this summer.
• Metal Torrent (Aa Mujou Setsuna) and X-Scape will release in spring. Foto Dojo (Fight With Photos: Photo Fighter X) is also coming out at some point.
• Ghostwire, which is so far a cartridge game and not DSiWare, has a perfect release date of October.
• GameStop will have Monster Hunter 3 demo discs starting March 8th. Online play is free.
• Club Nintendo will have Game & Watch Collection 2 and Grill Off With Ultrahand (WiiWare).
