Five tiny Nintendo DS/WiiWare news items you might have missed today
With a new Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer, glossy Metroid: Other M screens, and an array of release dates all revealed at Nintendo’s Media Summit this morning, there were a few second / third-tier news items that you might have overlooked today. Since we relish in covering second / third-tier games, we’ve gathered several quick stories and trailers that caught our fancy.

1. Attract Mode will begin selling its limited edition Cave Story shirts alongside the game’s WiiWare release on March 22nd. Designed by James “HARVEYJAMES” Harvey and Mitch “spacesick” Ansara, these tees were approved by Cave Story creator Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya himself.
2. Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal received a new trailer to accompany its October 2010 release date announcement. It’s a bit creepier than the last video!
3. Nintendo and Skip are returning the Art Style series to WiiWare in spectacular fashion: with Light Trax, a new version of the bit Generations game Dotstream that combines a vector look with modern camera angles and some chip music that is the stuff. They’re also working on Rotozoa, which is like Flow but actually a game.

4. America’s Test Kitchen: Let’s Get Cooking seems like a pretty boring title to most gamers, but you should note that it’s developed by Indies Zero, the same company that made Game Center CX/Retro Game Challenge. This studio also made Nintendo’s first DS cooking game, Personal Trainer: Cooking. So, at least one Indies Zero sequel made it to the states — too bad it’s the wrong one.
5. As predicted, X-Scape, Q-Games’s DSiWare tank game, is a spiritual sequel to X, which itself was the spiritual Game Boy prequel to Star Fox. It looks really fun, too!
