PS Vita finally gets a price cut in Japan
Sony will drop its price for the struggling PS Vita in Japan, discounting both the WiFi-only and 3G models to ¥19,980, or around $215 ($54 drop for WiFi-only, $108 drop for 3G). Those markdowns were announced during the Japan-only Vita Heaven presentation this morning and don’t apply to the West, but Sony will have other opportunities to mention them for North America later this week.
During the Vita Heaven livestream, the company also showed more of its Ice Silver model (pictured above) coming to Japan on February 28, Final Fantasy X HD, a new Dragon’s Crown trailer, Falcom’s Eiyuu Densetsu: Sen no Kiseki, and a bunch of Monster Hunter-style games (Toukiden, Valhalla Knights 3, Soul Sacrifice, Phantasy Star Online 2, and God Eater 2) to make up for its lacking of the real deal.
Some PS Vita owners seem to be freaking out over the lack of any major software announcements.
