Drawn to Life and Lock’s Quest developers 5th Cell revealed their new game to IGN on Friday, and holy crap, it sounds unbelievable. Scribblenauts is a puzzle game in which you acquire hidden/out-of-reach Starites using… whatever you can think of. Write any non-vulgar, common noun, and it will appear. That’s the idea, anyway. Really, it sounds unbelievably awesome — like a non-narrative sidescrolling graphical text adventure or something.
On a seemingly unrelated note, you’ve no doubt seen the Metal Gear “A NEXT METAL GEAR IS” teaser image by now. The NeoGAF thread about this mysterious image is one of the most ridiculously explosive in recent history, full of speculation, minute analysis … and the fake, but somehow convincing (to some posters), news from poster U K Narayan that the teaser is leading up to the release of a “Metal Gear Soda” beverage. I wish we really were getting Metal Gear Soda, because I could totally go for an ice-cold Orange-Soda Ocelot.
The post that best justifies my wade through that humongous thread is on page 72(!), in which EmCeeGramr ties the two stories together, suggesting a foolproof method of getting some real information about the next Metal Gear project.
