The combination of utterly ridiculous pop-culture/video game mashups with Masao’s detailed style make the art seem kind of … deadpan? Like, it’s wacky as hell, but he delivers it with the artistic equivalent of a straight face. Maybe I don’t actually know what I’m talking about, but I know this:
