I imagine that these dozens of characters all showed up for some sort of trade convention, the Aquatic Disputant Conference, or ADC, where they rub fins with industry types and hand out soggy business cards to any undersea creature with a free tentacle.

Bubble Man opened the event with a keynote on how underwater levels are better than stages that take place on dry land or in space, also announcing that his company secured 10 million clams in series B funding that will go toward developing less vulnerable Lantern Fish.

Other highlights from the show — Gyarados will share a post-mortem on his evolution from a Magikarp, and Castlevania’s Merman will lead an engaging panel on how to stay below water and continue delivering unenjoyable maritime levels despite the current economic downturn.
