So much Monster Hunter 4G crap ⊟

With Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate announced for Japan, here comes an overwhelming monster-sized assortment of tie-in items. Literally tied in (as in attached to the game) is the limited edition, which comes with four figurines and a random plush when purchased from e-Capcom.

There are also way too many accessories, like screen cleaners, SD cards?, stickers, cases, earphones, this treasure chest looking thing… Anyway, go ahead and throw all of your Monster Hunter 4 accessories in the trash, because there are 4G items now. Via Ruliweb.

Yoshi’s new 3DS XL cases ⊟

These two cases from perennial accessory manufacturer Keys Factory will be hitting Japan in a couple weeks alongside Yoshi’s New Island's launch there. Play-Asia has both cases for $14 each. Credit to NintendoTweet for the pics.

Mario White 3DS XL for US region ⊟
Well, all right. It’s not FOR the US region, but it is compatible with the US region. I spotted a weird listing on Play-Asia the other day for this “Mario White” 3DS XL, with copies of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, shipping in July. It specifically said it was US region compatible… I thought the whole thing was a mistake.
But apparently not. NintendoTweet mentioned that it was actually being released in Southeast Asia (which uses the same region code as us for 3DS) by Maxsoft, the Nintendo distributor in that area. And this Yahoo article has confirmation from Maxsoft.
So yeah, looks like you can order yourself a really cool, previously China-only Mario White 3DS XL (that comes with an old-ass soccer game) and play your US games on it.

Gametech’s Trigger Assist 3D LL ⊟

"Ugh, the L and R buttons on the 3DS are way too small and compact!" is something I’ve never thought.

But if you have, Gametech is here to help! These things are out next week in Japan. I guess I’ve seen things like this for console controllers, for FPS stuff? Not sure what you’d do with them on a 3DS. But I like looking at them.

Yo-kai Watch 2 3DS XL ⊟
For Japan, of course, where Nintendo and Level-5 are scrambling after the series became a surprise hit. Quick! Merchandise!
This “Jibanyan Pack” will be out in Japan July 10. I love it. Via @sprsk!

Save on custom 3DS cases, Klefki keychains ⊟

We’ve featured these items by Tony Sarkees before, but we’re featuring them again, because deal with it. Uh, I mean, there is a deal. Sorry, that sounded mean.

Right now, Tiny Cartridge readers can save an UNSPECIFIED amount on custom 3DS XL cases (“I can etch practically anything you want onto the case,” but real talk, you want that Tiny design. I want that Tiny design) and Klefki keychains (“If you want a shot at a limited edition gold shiny Klefki, choose “Try for a shiny!”).

To get the deal, use the promotion code BUTTS. You can remember that, right? You’ve been to our website before.

WaSaBi x Musubi 3DS cases ⊟

It’s been a while since I saw anything from Gametech’s WaSaBi series, and oh man. This new set of 3DS XL covers is just lovely. Every one of these looks is something I would be proud to carry. They’re all on clear cases, so be sure to pick one that goes nicely with your 3DS color.

They’re all available from Gametech (who, last time I checked, did ship internationally) for 3,024 yen ($30) each.

I need these 3DS XL cat accessories, nya~⊟

Cyber Gadget’s new series of 3DS/XL accessories may best even the Gachapin set. The “Nekonyan" series (Via Inside) includes cat paw covers for the circle pad, styli with paw motifs, and a cat face system cover, with ears.

I’ve long lamented Square Enix’s unwillingness to produce Slime styli for 3DS (recently rectified for XL, at least). But now, so soon after their creation, they already have solid competition!

Clear Famicom case for your 3DS XL ⊟

Catering to our obsessions with making video game systems we play look like another video game we used to play, Datel will produce this neat protective shell for 3DS XLs. It goes well with this case, too.

NintendoTweet points out that this releases in Japan in late June for ¥1,490, or around $14.50.

J-League x Pokemon 3DS XLs ⊟
If you live in Japan and love Japanese soccer, you might have a shot at one of these. The three Pokemon-themed 3DS LL systems above will be given away at Marinos (white), Urawa Reds (red), and FC Tokyo (blue) games, with the number of systems distributed depending on the score of the home team.
Fans will also get special Pikachu-playing-soccer Pokemon cards, and can even meet Pikachu! A suspiciously human-sized Pikachu, but still. That’s just more Pikachu to hug.

Price cut on five 3DS staples ⊟
This little dude (a Dr. Who 3DS XL from Nessa, via My Handheld) looks pretty happy about something. Maybe it’s Nintendo of America permanently cutting the price for five of its biggest 3DS releases.
Starting April 22, you’ll be able to buy the following games from the eShop or retailers for $29.99 each:
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Mario Kart 7
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario 3D Land
All of those games have hovered around $30 for a while at some point, and a couple even launched at only $35. Still, yay for cheaper games. I haven’t spent enough time with DKCR 3D or NSMB 2 to deliver a verdict on them, but the other three are must-buys if you are the type of person who likes to play games that are fun. Otherwise, they’re alright to skip.

What’s the deal with special edition 3DSes lately? ⊟
It looks like the Mickey 3DS XL that’s coming to Walmart in two weeks, priced at $199, doesn’t include a copy of Disney Magical World, despite releasing on the same day as the game and bearing its name on the lid.
It’s understandable that the GameStop-exclusive Peach Pink 2DS won’t come with the game either, as it’s not explicitly linked to the title even though it comes with a branded Disney Magical World case. But last month’s Yoshi 3DS XL didn’t include Yoshi’s New Island either? Is this the new deal with limited edition hardware releases?
