The fan translation for Ace Attorney Investigations 2 looks like it’s coming along well, judging by this video just posted of the game’s introduction to its first case.
Auryn, who is leading the translation effort, says the game’s patch is due to release some time before Christmas, which will not make not only a great holiday gift for fans but also something for everyone to play with while we wait for Ace Attorney 5 and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney.

Screenshots from the Ace Attorney Investigations 2 fan translation in progress. More than a year has passed since this Miles Edgeworth game released in Japan, and Capcom has still yet to announce a Western release, so I’m glad someone’s working on an English patch.
There are French, German, and Portuguese translations in the works, too. Follow their development here.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 producer Motohide Eshiro and the game’s characters at a fan event. Eshiro mysteriously “died”, and it was up to a group of actors dressed as the cast of Ace Attorney Investigations 2, with participation from fans, to solve the crime!
Don’t worry, though, Eshiro recovered from his death.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 card case, jigsaw puzzle, and strap. These are all various retailers’ preorder items for the Japanese release. Some retailers are offering exclusive wallpapers, which is pretty dang cheap compared to these physical artifacts.
AAI2 comes out in Japan February 3. That puts the (inevitable) US release, by the way, well after the 3DS comes out. I ain’t buggin’, though — having just played Ghost Trick, I’m cool with waiting for my next dose of Shu Takumi-style wacky logic.
Here’s a super dramatic trailer:

Ace Attorney Investigations 2’s Miles Edgeworth and Kay Faraday screen cleaning straps (click for a larger image). Each features the character’s Japanese name on the strap, and a little screen cleaner decoration with the in-game sprite of either the dashing, Steel Samurai-obsessed prosecutor or the noble young thief.
One of the great things about the Ace Attorney series is the popularization of a magenta-suited, tea-drinking man in an ascot as a hero — and now you can have a little Edgeworth sipping tea on your DS. Preordering at e-Capcom nets you the Miles strap, and Rakuten has the Kay version.
That brings the tally of things you can get with Ace Attorney Investigations 2 in Japan to:
Compare that to what you get here:
I’m sure the game will be localized. Just don’t get your hopes up about filling your house with unnecessary but wonderful bonus items.

Panel from a new Ace Attorney Investigations-focused “Hiimdaisy” comic by Peachifruit. The two comics are bite-sized compared to the usual Hiimdaisy fare, and absolutely are not to be read by anyone who hasn’t completed Ace Attorney Investigations. Unless you don’t care at all about spoilers. Which is fine!
You may also enjoy this wallpaper for the WiiWare release of Trials and Tribulations, which is, as far as I can tell, the only piece of original artwork produced for that release.

You could win an Ace Attorney Investigations/Gyakuten Kenji DSi! Capcom-Unity is giving away one of the Japan-only systems, signed by producer Motohide Eshiro.
Featuring an emblem of the series’ Blue Badger character on the front, this is objectively the best DSi variant of all time, and the method for winning it also sounds pretty enjoyable: writing an Ace Attorney case.
“Using the power of words, art, or your organizational skills, we want you to create an AAI case using any Capcom characters that you’d like! The only thing that is required is that you must use at least one character from Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
Your case can be submitted as a script, comic, piece of art, power point presentation, animation, live video, excel spreadsheet, anything! Just be creative and be sure that you’re able to submit your entry digitally!”

The “Ace Case,” an Ace Attorney Investigations-branded DSi case. Only 200 of these exist, and only 150 will be put up for sale by Capcom. Buying the $24.95 case will also get you $10 off the cost of the game.
I want it because it has the logo of a game I like on it.

In case you’ve managed to let a whole week and part of another elapse without downloading the DS Ace Attorney Investigations demo (and if you live somewhere said demo is being offered) — go get it. Right now.
I say this because I’m a huge Ace Attorney freak and I’ve managed to forget to do this. I’ve been busy, you know? Anyway, do that.

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth wallpaper. You can still get an identical Gyakuten Kenji wallpaper from Capcom’s Japanese website (plus more that the US website isn’t offering yet), but now you can get it with the English logo!
Because the game is coming out soon! Exclamation point!
Ace Attorney Investigations swag being given away next weekend at Comic-Con, including the towels Capcom handed out at TGS, and the Blue Badger strap sold on e-capcom.
People who are going to Comic-Con are very lucky. Oh, Capcom will also be selling Servbot keychains. That hurts.
