I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy/play this or ZombiU for the holiday weekend, as both have received a lot of praise recently. But then I remembered Crashmo came out today. And that there are so many books I’ve been meaning to read. I bet I end up playing/doing nothing because I am terrible at picking one thing I want to do.

Oh, and you knew this comes out today too, right? The impressions I’ve read so far have been positive. Joystiq:

“If you look at it purely from a gameplay perspective, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?! is an adequate, albeit cookie-cutter Zelda 2 clone. It’d still be worth playing through even without the Adventure Time motif, but the game’s tight controls and fantastic boss fights would be forgettable in any other setting.

But, to look at it that way would be to ignore what makes it truly special: This game is as heartwarming and gut-busting as the show, which is to say that it’s a magical journey of friendship and punching jerks for fun. Hey Ice King is a potent distillation of everything that makes the cartoon such an uncommon, endearing powerhouse, and out of all the things I assumed this game would be, that was never, ever one of them.”

Exploded parts view of BMO. While others are busy tearing down the Wii U to see what’s powering the system, artist Justin Edwards created this poster to give us a view of Adventure Time’s sentient game console taken apart.

While it looks like there are a few significant components missing, like her VHS player and butt printer, I imagine it would be difficult to figure out how all those different parts fit into such a tiny, adorable machine.

Adventure Time trailer. It’s a pretty good trailer, but it becomes great when you play the theme song over the video.

I’m pretty bummed I didn’t buy the collector’s edition. I’ve been waiting to buy it because I don’t have time to play this right now, but I should have just bought one.

Adventure Time theme song remixed for the Nintendo 3DS and DS games.

Well, D3 calls it a remix, but this is a totally new song that starts from the Adventure Time theme and goes off into a discussion of garbage theft.

D3 announced a final November 20 release date for both the 3DS and DS versions. Finally, a video game to play in November.

Apparently Ice King is stealing Princess Bubblegum’s pantyhose now (Or maybe it was Cinnamon Bun?). Not sure if this is part of a fetish of his, or if he’s just trying to keep warm under his wizard robes. I’m leaning toward the former, considering Ice King’s unhealthy BP infatuation.

Anyway, here are new screenshots from the upcoming DS and 3DS game. And here are photos of two cakes we had made for my LSP-obsessed wife’s birthday.

New gameplay clips for Adventure Time 3DS! I hardly noticed them, though, when I realized the music is a remix of Marceline’s Fry Song, which is amazing.

Adventure Time games for Famicom! Or fake labels based on the cartoon and slapped on Famicom cartridges, Famicase style. This is a thing people do all the time now!

In fact, the site behind these mock-ups, SimplyAwful, is dedicated to making all sorts of custom labels for both real and fake games. There’s lots of hot stuff here.

Maybe someone will actually build a homebrew NES project based on these mock-ups at this weekend’s Adventure Time Game Jam (as detailed by the recently launched and Venus Patrol)? How math would that be?
