Katrina set up her tent in my town the other day and offered to tell me my fortune for a nominal fee. Now, I dont usually believe in all this astronomy nonsense or what have you, but I’m telling you, something weird happened there. I was floating in space for a second, and I saw an owl flying backwards, but there was no owl. And a faraway voice sang:
night so dark
where are you?
come back in my heart
so dark
so dark
I ran home and slipped into some hot pants. Also made sure my New Leaf character wore shorts that day.

Just making sure people will feel welcome when they visit my Animal Crossing: New Leaf town.
We all need somewhere we can go and be happy and be ourselves and be silly if we want to. As the mayor here, that’s the kind of town I’m trying to build. There’s no judging here.

When you’re feeling bored of your town in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, for 1,000 bells, Kapp’n will ferry you to another island for fun (and very profitable) activities. I love that he serenades you with a silly song during the trip.

Being the mayor of your Animal Crossing: New Leaf town has it perks. You get your own Town Hall office, shopkeepers are always polite to you, everyone always comes to you with their gossip, it’s easy to allocate funds toward sending secret armies to fight covert drug wars in other countries, etc.
Another thing you can do is pass ordinances to fit your play style, like making it so all the stores are open late, which works great if you rarely have time to play New Leaf earlier than 10PM, when most of the shops are already closed. You can also pass laws to make the town more beautiful (less garbage and weeds) and wealthy!

I finally cleared up my 3DS’s R-button issues with a simple fix, so I can take in-game screenshots with Animal Crossing: New Leaf now!
My neighbors have grilled me with questions about how people talk on “the streets,” and have been quick to absorb my foreign vernacular. Unfortunately “What’s poppin’ slime” didn’t fit the character limits for Penelope’s greeting, but I was able to suggest “Booty Secrets” when Hugh asked me for a covert phrase we could use when trading gossip.
Pretty sure this isn’t what Nintendo had in mind when they provided reviewers with an early copy of the game.

I don’t really know how to be a good mayor — as soon as I arrived in this Animal Crossing: New Leaf town, the game just threw me into the role. I hope I can meet their expectations.
Even though Buttocks is their home, it’s my ass that’s on the line.

So I’m starting to play through my press review copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and woo boy this is fun. Expect lots of posts on how things are going in Buttocks ahead (with in-game screenshots after the next update).
[Update: The character limit for town names, by the way, is nine eight characters max. Sorry for the mix-up!]

I don’t know why you’d want to have the crooked moneylender on your 3DS, but 0-catch made this custom piece and printed it out at GelaSkins. It probably won’t be long before we see Resetti skins too…

It probably isn’t a good look for a dude, but were circumstances different, yeah, I’d rock a DJ K.K. tote bag. Both of these come out later this month, and are available for preorder at AmiAmi for around $16 each.

This latest tourism trailer introduces you to the various establishments you can visit in New Leaf, like the T&T Mart, the Kicks shoe store, and others.
It also settles the heated debate that’s ravaged online message boards across the country — splitting families apart, pitting brother against brother — over whether Dr. Shrunk’s new entertainment venue was named Club 101 or Club LOL. Finally, we can put those ugly arguments behind us, try to rebuild the relationships that were ruined as people refused to compromise on their beliefs, and maybe come together again to build a stronger nation. A united States of America.

Nintendo has created a new site that will let you post in-game screenshots taken in Animal Crossing: New Leaf (and in Tomadachi Collection: New Life) directly from your 3DS to Tumblr or Twitter.
All you need to do is load up i.nintendo.net in your 3DS’s built-in browser, login to the appropriate service, pick your photo, add a message, and post. Yeah, it’s not as convenient as an in-game tool, but it’s another sign that Nintendo is embracing Tumblr.
