DS/3DS Release Dates & Sales // Tiny Cartridge Stickers For Your Games!

Your secretary in the upcoming Animal Crossing 3DS. As mayor of your town, you’ll need an assistant to help you build your town, negotiate contracts, find new ways to screw over constituents during your climb up the political ladder, and handle other off-the-books duties.

ONM’s latest preview of the upcoming game mentions that chatting with your secretary “may be one of the game’s highlights.” And while she can be clumsy, she will be “pointing out the bits of the village that look particularly good and which parts may need some work.”

The British magazine has all sorts of other details about Animal Crossing 3DS’s model homes, separate beach area, and other features, which you can find scanned here.

E3 trailer for Animal Crossing 3DS. Apparently, the big E3 megaton is you can swim in this game! You can also now hang stuff on walls, buy new house designs, and move around while using the net. Everything’s changed, folks. The Animal Crossing you knew from years ago is dead.

Whenever I watch this, I imagine Bunnie’s voice as Lumpy Space Princess’: “Well, whatever. We’re all here now. Let’s get chatting! OMG drama bomb!”

“Super Go K.K. Rider!” by Doomwaffle, a very Mega Man-like rendition of one of my favorite K.K. Slider tunes from Animal Crossing. The original “performance” version:

And here’s Hatsune Miku performing it with K.K.:

Club Nintendo Animal Crossing: Wild World playing cards. When Nintendo first unveiled the selection of North American Club Nintendo rewards (all leftovers from Japan), I only cared for the Game & Watch Collection and that Mario hat DS game stand, but I’m increasingly impressed with the other offerings as people receive and photograph them.

Which is good, because I have a slightly better chance of affording something like this than the DS game. Speaking of Game & Watch Collection, how many posts today can we talk about Game & Watches in?

“Crossing Over” by Denise Chavez, from 2008’s i am 8-bit exhibition. That poor Fygar — above ground, he could have had a lovely existence walking around with a fishing pole, changing sweaters occasionally, and picking up the word “d-d-dude” from his neighbor, Cube.

But the terrible economy forced him to make his life underground, away from the omnipresent Tom Nook, where he was murdered with a bicycle pump.

“Totaka’s Song” found in Animal Crossing: City Folk!

That was quick! Kapp’n, the bus driver, whistles the 19-note tune if you wait on his bus long enough.

My favorite new Animal Crossing character

Reiko Ninomiya and Ann Linn, producers with Nintendo of America’s Treehouse localization department, talking about their favorite new character in Animal Crossing: City Folk with Nintendo Power:

Ann: I like Zipper T. Bunny.

Reiko: Oh, yeah. He has cool items!

Ann: He’s this character that comes around on Bunny Day, and he asks you to find eggs hidden around town … But the coolest thing about him is that it’s kind of unclear whether he’s an actual bunny or just a guy in a mascot suit.

Reiko: It’s creepy awasome.
