DS/3DS Release Dates & Sales // Tiny Cartridge Stickers For Your Games!

Subtitled version of the Good People Die promotional anime clip that Chunsoft and Gonzo put out last month, translated by Vividnecromancer. While it’s not a the most accurate translation, it’s better than nothing. Make sure to turn on annotations in the video to see the text.

I swear I was looking all over for a subbed copy of this video last month, but I wasn’t able to find one until I was reminded to renew my search earlier today, after seeing Good People Die’s latest Japanese trailer, which has limited subtitles and features the bunny antagonist.

Art promoting the planned Kid Icarus: Uprising animated shorts from Production I.G., Shaft, and Studio 4℃.

Details posted by NeoGAF’s Masked Man:

The anime by Production I.G (known for such works as “Ghost in the Shell”) will feature Pit as the main character. An orthodox 3D action title mixing human artillery, Medusa’s lackeys, and Thanatos, God of Death. Scheduled for three (3) episodes.

My Twitter was all abuzz while “Madoka Magica” was on the air. Shaft’s comical mini-series sets Palutena, Goddess of Light, as the main character. Perhaps this sort of thing is their specialty. Cheerful and amusing. Scheduled for two (2) episodes.

Studio 4℃, whose art style is so full of personality (e.g. “MEMORIES,” “Animatrix”), are focusing on Medusa. They’re visually portraying her actions from the past up until her comeback. Scheduled for one (1) episode.

Spelunker is a Teacher, and his anime looks fantastic

Above is the opening credit sequence for Spelunker Sensei/Spelunker is a Teacher, the animated film in which the easily-killed explorer from Spelunker tries to live a normal life as a teacher. Above is the opening, featuring a rock version of the Spelunker theme song with Engrish lyrics, sung by legendary Sega musician Takenobu “Daytonaaaaaaaa” Mitsuyoshi.

You must listen to it.

Here’s the ending sequence:

Trailer for Spelunker Sensei, a Flash animated film releasing on DVD March 16. Based on a 4-koma comic posted by Irem (which is, of course, based on Spelunker, the game), Spelunker Sensei is about a gym teacher who is also a Spelunker — helmet, frequent deaths, and all.

Publisher Enterbrain hasn’t shown any actual footage yet, but these Japanese trailers are cute:

This one being the cutest of all:

Speaking of Spelunker, the PS3’s Spelunker HD was one of my “Best of the Rest” of 2010 on Joystiq. If you’re not tired of year-end list features yet, why not read about Spelunker HD and other games I liked?

Inazuma Eleven anime commercial with English dubbed clips. Oh God, those voices sound awful!

Though the announcer here sounds Australian, I think this commercial is for Cartoon Network Philippines. Perhaps the channel’s using a dub made for Western markets because it’s cheaper than recording a Tagalog version? If the Philippines receives a localization for one of the Inazuma Eleven RPG/soccer DS games before the States, I will be all kinds of agitated.

I’m unsure if anyone plans to start airing this in the U.S. (“animation” is mentioned in Level-5’s Inazuma Eleven trademark filing), but apparently it’s already available in Spain. Check out the dubbed Spanish version here; it sounds way better than the English edition, IMO.

Boxart for the DVD release of Bug-tte Honey. The random anime show starring a cartoony Takahashi Meijin will be released in the first of two DVD sets in Japan on July 28. If you don’t mind ordering from Amazon Japan or the like — and you don’t mind the Japanese dialogue — you could have 27 episodes of classic, game-promotin’ entertainment this summer.

Kapcon's Monkey Hunter →

With Monster Hunter Tri now out, I’d like to point you to an amusing parody of the “MMORPG-lite” dreamt up by popular anime series Gintama. In the episode I linked above, the show’s characters are chasing after aliens that have escaped into the game world of Kapcon’s Monkey Hunter (fast forward to 12:40 for the fun stuff).

Even if you don’t know anything about Gintama or Monster Hunter, it’s an entertaining episode with a lot of laughable bits (LOL bits). By the way, have any of you bought Monster Hunter Tri yet? What do you think? I’m tempted to pick it up some day…

Lime Green DS Lite makes a cameo in Bamboo Blade, a three-year-old anime that I’ve never heard of and that lasted for only one season. According to the minimal research I’ve conducted, the manga/anime follows a high school all-female Kendo team and its instructor.

You can watch the episode (#7) that this capture comes from at Anime Media. The system doesn’t survive:

On a kind of related note, did you know there’s an amateur porn group filming girls playing PlayStation 3 and DS games (e.g. Phantom Hourglass, PictoChat) as they sit on a dude’s face? The tipster who pointed us to these clips prefers to remain anonymous…

“I’m Alive” (Hatsune Miku version) by Sasakure-P. This is a cover and a video remake of the ending theme from the anime Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). The show sounds quite not-for-me, but I actually like the song. Of course, I think the Miku and chiptune version is way better.

“Runner,” a mellow song by Takahashi Meijin (!) This song is the theme to Running Boy: Star Soldier no Himitsu, a 49-minute anime movie also featuring Takahashi Meijin.
