If you’re in the area and into indie games, NYU Game Center will hold its 4th Annual No Quarter exhibition tonight (7PM), which features “commissioned work from established and emerging independent developers, who have all been challenged to create games for a social, gallery setting.”
It will also showcase and sell artwork from talented folks inspired by indie games, like the above Nidhogg and BaraBariBall pieces from Kyle Fewell and Hamlet Machine (the logo is from Cory Schmitz). You can RSVP here and find more info at the event’s Facebook page.

One of many amazing pieces from many amazing artists participating in the Fangamer vs. Attract Mode show/party, which kicks off at PAX this Saturday. You don’t need to have a PAX Prime pass to attend, but you’ll need $5 bucks to take in all the indie games, chiptunes, and cray artwork that will be at the event.
This great Nintendo-packed piece (though a PS1 controller snuck in) comes from Tiffany ‘OMOcat’ Liao.

Game Night 3 at Giant Robot Los Angeles tonight! If you show up, you’ll not only have a chance to buy a tasty meat bun bento box and the MBxGR Ouendan-inspired shirt, but also to play Super Street Fighter IV and Super Meat Boy projected on a wall. So jealous of LA dudes!
You can read more Game Night 3 details here.

Cave Story shirt designs by James “HARVEYJAMES” Harvey (Mitch “spacesick” Ansara is also slated to contribute a shirt). Revealed in this month’s issue of Play, these shirts will eventually go on sale through Tiny Cartridge comrade Attractmo.de, provided that Pixel approves the drafts. Nicalis is also involved, of course, keeping the project legit (so no one has to quit).
The Polar Star shirt doesn’t show up well in the scan above, but I assure you, the version that I had the fortune of seeing not too long ago looked rad as hell. Expect this Cave Story shirt series to be super limited.

Duke Togo! Mighty Bomb Jack! The, uh, Blue Virus from Dr. Mario! Find all your favorite NES/SNES/Genesis characters in this poster for the Game Over/Continue? show, starting next week in San Francisco.
You should notice a few familiar bits of text there, such as Tiny Cartridge compatriot Attractmo.de, as well as commentor and contributor Anna “Auntie” Anthropy (Calamity Annie, Mighty Jill Off).
So, if you’re in the area and fond of games-inspired artwork or of indie games created in collaboration with talented illustrators, you should totally go and support them! The ARTXGAME concept is really interesting!
On the topic of art, here’s a neat piece that TC reader Monodi drew yesterday — Tiny has a sword!

Tiny appreciates the attention. Lord knows we’ve done a terrible job making a mascot out of him!

Reader and TC pal Adam Robezzoli’s online shop Attractmo.de is almost here! Adam has started a blog that currently features some great game-related (and game-esque) art, and also features pixelated preview images for the items soon to be available.
After seeing the “leaked” image of the first item, it seems inevitable that some of my money will end up headed Attractmo.de’s way at the earliest opportunity.
