"Your New Life Is Calling" by Bit Shifter, performed at Blip Festival 2012 (you can hear him singing the track during his Blip Festival Tokyo 2012 set, too).

God this song is so good — I wish Bit Shifter (and other chip artists, to be honest) did more vocals on his tunes, and put this out as a recorded track.

4mat performing at Blip Festival 2011. This show was definitely one of the more pleasant surprises for me, because I’m a jerk and haven’t followed the Amiga chiptune artist’s work very closely, despite Eric’s posting of three rad tracks over the last couple of years. After the live show (4mat’s first!) I am now a for-real fan.

YouTube user Shikaku11373 captured lots of other performances from the second night of Blip Fest, all available on the YouTube channel. Here’s Bit Shifter covering The Church’s “Under the Milky Way.”

Bit Shifter 3D. I’m really surprised, and happy, that a 3DS photo from last night’s Blip Festival came out!
I always thought Bit Shifter was, you know, pretty cool, but last night’s performance was beyond my expectations, drawing in the whole crowd and making me really, seriously consider trying to teach myself music and/or programming. I came right back to the hotel and downloaded the LSDJ demo after this.
