Gaijin Games’ brainstorming session for Runner 2, its new Bit.Trip Runner follow-up! … for XBLA and PSN.
I hope you’ve got an Xbox 360 or PS3 because Bit Trip Presents: Runner 2, Future Legend of Rhythm Alien expands on the original awesome game with HD graphics, 10+ new abilities for Commander Video (and other playable characters), unlockable outfits, difficulty modes and checkpoints, and more. Hopefully Anamanaguchi will make a return on the soundtrack, too?
You can follow Runner 2’s development and see its concept art (very different style from the Bit.Trip series!) here.

Holy crap, Bit.Trip fans are crazy talented! When we launched ou fanart contest earlier this month, we never expected to receive as many entries as we did — all of them capturing our amusement and the spirit of Commander Video simultaneously (like the awesome one by 2D animator Jack Sabbath above).
We really wish we could have given prizes to all of you to thank you for putting so much effort into your tributes, but since our wallets are filled with more moths than legal tender, we’re only able to select three.
We do want to share all of the pieces we received, though, because, seriously, you guys blew our minds with some of these. See them all after the break!:
[Sponsored] Bit.Trip Complete’s ‘Evil, Evil Challenges’ trailer. Hey, that’s Gaijin Games’ Alex Neuse, and he’s previewing one of this compilation’s challenges for the first time, here on Tiny Cartridge. Eat it, buddy!
Gaijin has packed so much new and exclusive stuff into Complete — as if the six addictive rhythm-action titles weren’t enough — including 120 “galactically difficult” Challenges you won’t find anywhere else.
The studio hasn’t talked much about those Challenges yet, though, so we had Neuse demonstrate one, and give us a peek at a Challenge from each of the included games:
Excellent! Also excellent: our Bit.Trip fanart contest — we’re giving away copies of Bit.Trip Saga and Complete. It ends September 14, so send in your entries soon!

[Sponsored] Affecting trailer for Bit.Trip Complete — the first video released for the Wii collection actually, and it’s making its debut here on our humble site!
Even though CommanderVideo’s journey ended months ago with the release of Bit.Trip Flux, it’s still difficult to believe it’s all over. Complete extends his quest a bit longer with 120 new challenges, new difficulty modes, music remixes/demos, and more. And it just got a super positive review from Nintendo Power, too.
Both Bit.Trip Complete and Bit.Trip Saga (for 3DS) contain all six games from the Bit.Trip WiiWare series, and are scheduled to release on September 13.

[Sponsored] “Triumph” from Bit.Trip Runner. Like the other chiptune-inspired tracks from the Bit.Trip series, this takes a minute to pick up but is a gem once it gets going.
This is one of the 18 songs, three from each of the series’ games, featured in the free Soundtrack Sampler CD included with Bit.Trip Saga (3DS) copies preordered online from GameStop, and with every copy of Bit.Trip Complete (Wii) — both ship on September 13.
Bit.Trip Saga/Complete’s Sampler tracklisting:

And just in case you forgot, in addition to the original songs Gaijin Games composed for its Bit.Trip releases, each of the titles collected in the anthology have tunes from chiptune greats like Bit Shifter, Nullsleep, Anamanaguchi, Bubblyfish, and Minusbaby.
It totally blows my mind that there will be a 3DS game with Anamanaguchi and Minusbaby tracks!

[Sponsored] Bit.Trip Saga teaser: All six games in 3D.
We’re less than a month away from the launch of Bit.Trip Saga — the handheld anthology collecting Bit.Trip Beat, Core, Void, Runner, Fate, and Flux, all presented with 3D stages designed to “defy spatial perception”.
Releasing on the same day, September 13, is Bit.Trip Complete (complementary teaser trailer here), a Wii Disc collection of the six WiiWare titles, adding 120 new challenges, fan remixes and original songs, 25+ movies telling CommanderVideo’s story, new difficulty modes, online leaderboards, and more.
We plan to examine many of the bits that make up Bit.Trip Saga/Complete in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for exclusive media, a contest, etc. from Aksys/Gaijin Games!

Bit.Trip Saga played on a Nintendo 3Ds at E3. Here, you can see Bit.Trip Core and Bit.Trip Void demonstrated on the handheld. They look exactly like their WiiWare counterparts, except on a smaller screen, but I suppose that’s exactly what people are hoping for.
Last week, Gaijin Games announced that it’s also releasing a Wii disc collection called Bit.Trip Complete. That version will include all six Bit.Trip titles, plus 120 new challenges and a soundtrack sampler. I wonder if we’ll see any of that extra content on the 3DS edition?

Debut trailer for Bit.Trip Flux, the final entry from Gaijin Games’ cherished WiiWare series. Flux takes us back to where Bit.Trip started, with a stylish, modern take on Pong’s paddle and bouncing blocks, joining Commander Video on his journey home.
I love the music in this trailer — it’s like everything’s coming together! This train is approaching its last stop, so let’s stare out the window and watch the sun set over the blur of scenery, enjoying these few minutes we have.

Speaking at Indiecade two weeks ago, Gaijin Games’ Alex Neuse talked about what kind of project the studio might tackle next after finishing the Bit.Trip series, sharing this mock-up of a concept called Laserlife.
He described it as a “rhythm music racing adventure kind of game” — though Neuse didn’t say what platform the idea would work best on, he mentioned that it could work with two PlayStation Move Controllers, two Wii MotionPlus Remotes, or possible even Kinect.
You can watch a mock-up trailer for Laserlife, a summary for how it would play, and the very ambitious ideas the developer has for that astronaut corpse after the break:

Bullet point features from the new official site:
Once again, Gaijin Games came up with a project that’s almost nothing like any other games out there!

Fan-made Bit.Trip Runner trailer made in Flipnote Studio — it even features a lofi recording of Anamanaguchi’s “Blackout City”, which is featured in the game!

Eternity’s Child microgame made in WarioWare D.I.Y. That’s two versions of Luc Bernard’s 2D platformer to be completed before the WiiWare release! Of course, this one had the unfair advantage of only being five seconds long. It also looks like the hardest D.I.Y. microgame yet, especially at higher speeds.
One more microgame! This is from Alex Neuse of Bit.Trip developer Gaijin Games; it’s like an early playable preview of Bit.Trip Runner! I assume you can download it now from WarioWare D.I.Y.’s Big Name Games section:
