Okay, this story has officially gotten too ridiculous for me, and I’ve been writing stories about a damn energy drink for a year. Apparently, another E-tank can fan contacted Boston America, the producer of the American version of the energy drink, to ask why the can doesn’t look like its namesake. And the company responded.

“I understand why that Japanese version had such a tremendous appeal to the hard core Megaman fan but when we showed this to the buyers here in the US they didn’t know if the majority of their customers would understand the product,” a Boston America rep said, in a statement about a damn can.

Apparently, the company may produce a second run with a more authentic appearance if the drink is popular. I think I was a lot happier when I didn’t know anyone really cared about this stuff even as much as me.
