I’m dead because of these Mega Man plushes ⊟

I saw the face on that Mega Man, and died. Man these things are cute. The small (6.7”) Mega Man, Rush, and Proto Man are available from J-List for $22 each;  the medium (9.8”) Mega Man is $35.

You can also get a new version of the coveted (by me in like 2009?) E-Tank energy drink!

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate got Mega Man ⊟

Monster Hunter really is becoming Smash Bros. What with the new game featuring so many cameos from other companies’ mascots, it’s no surprise Capcom has thrown Mega Man into Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Along with featuring Mega Man’s classic armor for your Palico companions, the release will include a weapon that looks like Rush’s helmet.

Samus is in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate too ⊟

Metroid’s intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran’s will appear in the next MonHun, or at least her Varia Suit, Zero Suit, and Arm Cannon will. Users in Japan will be able to obtain them by completing quests downloaded at 7-Eleven stores, but the equipment will also come to the North American version in some form.

The game also features collaborations with Sonic the Hedgehog, Taiko: Drum Master, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing. Pretty soon, we won’t even need Smash Bros. anymore because the entire roster will be available in MonHun anyway.

Strider 2 on PSN next week ⊟
Woo yeah! Strider 2 will be released on PSN next week as a PSOne Classic (thanks for pointing it out, @expdotzine)! It’ll include the bonus emulated version of Strider 1, just like the retail version did — except this time, it won’t be confusing as hell to deal with mislabeled discs! (Strider 2 was on the disc labeled “Strider,” and vice versa. It was weird).
Speaking of weird, it seems odd that Capcom wasn’t able to get this out closer to the release of that new Strider for PS3/PS4/etc.

Ace Attorney Trilogy graphics compared ⊟

On the left, the DS version. On the right, the 3DS version. Looks nice!

The text seems quite readable, though I think that new, anti-aliased font is going to make it harder for me to painstakingly assemble authentic-looking screenshots.

Can you believe I had time to do that once???? I don’t even recognize the person who made that.

Monster Hunter 4G has Animal Crossing in it because this is the world we live in now ⊟

Sonic and Taiko Drum Master being in the new Monster Hunter wasn’t enough for you? Here, have Isabelle and Resetti from Animal Crossing: New Leaf because that’s what we do now. That’s what’s going on.

Apparently these are Felyne outfits that will be given out in Japan as part of a 7-11 promotion, according to Japanese 3DS. Who knows how this will be promoted if/when it comes to the West.

Sonic x Monster Hunter 4G is happening ⊟

Special DLC lets you dress a Felyne in a Sonic costume if you want to. There’s also this much less upsetting item, the Taiko Drum Master Hunting Horn.

Great Ace Attorney trailer ⊟

Dying over here. The detective-work stuff! The art and animation look positively Ghost Trick-y. Sherlock Holmes in particular would fit right in. Here’s a rough English transcript for the video.

So that’s Tokyo Game Show, already worthwhile on the morning of day 1.

Here’s Sherlock Holmes in the Great Ace Attorney ⊟

The little girl is Capcom’s version of Watson, a pink-haired 8 year old. Don’t underestimate her, though — Iris Watson is a genius with a medical Ph.D., and the author of novel series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

The 3DS game is set to release in Japan next spring. Thanks to Kotaku for posting these scans and details from the latest issue of Famitsu.

Sherlock Holmes [may be] in the Great Ace Attorney ⊟
[Update: I should point out, of course, that we’re not 100% sure the Famitsu leak is accurate; we’ll find out when we see scans or when Capcom announces this on the 11th. The silhouette above is official but the characters are still unnamed.]
With a version of Watson, called Iris, who is a) eight years old and b) still a doctor. You keep doing you, Ace Attorney. The news comes from a Famitsu leak (thx Gematsu) and teased by silhouettes on the official website.
I’m just coming off Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, and I’m definitely jazzed about an 1800s version of English Detective and Clueless Lawyer. Although by definition Sherlock Holmes isn’t as much of a gentleman as the Professor. A new “Joint Reasoning” system allows players to decode mysteries by identifying when Holmes goes too far in his reasoning (something like “to the other side of the truth”).
The downside of this is that Tumblr’s going to learn there is more than one interpretation of Sherlock Holmes.

Capcom “touching up” localization of Ace Attorney Trilogy ⊟
You got me, Capcom. I will happily buy the Ace Attorney games again. I wasn’t particularly interested in the 3DS ports, but Capcom’s localization team (led by localization director Janet Hsu, who posted this info on Capcom-Unity) went back through and fixed up the text. Hsu outlined some changes:

"We have re-mastered the sound effects and background music, and yes, we’ve even proof-read the text again! Rejoice, for the miracle did happen! Finally! …Not that that’s something I should be saying too loudly… *hangs head in shame*
All joking aside, the translation has received a much needed touch-up job, including some re-translations that I hope will help the dialogue flow more naturally, and tweaks that should make some of the more difficult cross-examinations easier to solve using, dare I say… LOGIC *gasp!*”

But if you want to avoid the localization entirely, you can do that. The 3DS release has the full Japanese text as well! How awesome! Ready to learn hella puns and legal vocabulary in Japanese? I’m not, but I’m damn sure gonna try!
