Colored 3DS XL docks for Club Nintendo Japan

Please come to the U.S.! Those of us with 3DS XLs (especially the Pikachu XL owners lusting over the yellow base) would ensure that Nintendo ran out of stock in an hour.

Club Nintendo’s Luigi Sale
Like last year, Club Nintendo has discounted stuff in honor of Luigi, for the dual purpose of promoting Luigi’s Mansion and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
The discounts are totally random! Like the Wiimote holder or the reversible pouch. I don’t know. I know I love Club Nintendo promos, though!

Paper Mario: Sticker Star note pads

They’re paper, and Mario, and sticky! Nice idea for a product. These are only available through Club Nintendo in Europe and Australia right now, in three different sets of three.

Of all the problems I had with that game, the cute Paper Mario sprites were never one of them.

Don’t we all, Clara…
Somewhat related to Style Savvy, if you’re a 3DS XL owner in Europe, you can get a free digital download for one of these first-party games, so long as you register your hardware with Nintendo before January 15:
New Art Academy
Super Mario 3D Land
New Style Boutique (Style Savvy: Trendsetters)
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
Freakyforms Deluxe
I am way jealous that we don’t have this in North America, but I guess we got a lot of great holiday bundle deals to make up for it. Plus there was the Donkey Kong: Original Edition deal, which expires on Sunday so don’t forget to take advantage of that!

Club Nintendo 3DS card case returning

Get something useful with your Club Nintendo coins! Nintendo is restocking the 3DS Card Case 18 on this Wednesday, December 19. Because of its slim profile, high capacity, and swappable covers, this is my favorite 3DS/DS game case. I think other people feel the same way, because it routinely goes out of stock…

Teaser image for Nintendouji, an original DSiWare card RPG that is only being released on the 3DS eShop, and only as a Platinum gift from Club Nintendo in Japan. The name is a pun containing the first two characters of “Nintendo” and the word “douji,” which means “boy” or “child.”
Other Platinum gifts include a Pikmin tote bag, which I totally wouldn’t mind flaunting at the Whole Foods, and some clear Mario playing cards.

Club Nintendo is giving away a “Core AR Card Set” for Kid Icarus: Uprising, including “over 400” of the cards, which is way more than I have.

All you have to do to enter (in the US or Canada) is buy the game, register it on Club Nintendo, and then opt into the contest on the same site. You have until January 6 to enter. Cards! More cards!

Animal Crossing Pocket Diary, a Club Nintendo item just added to Japan’s selection. Shown here are the four interchangeable covers, including one with the same pattern as the lovely Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL.
It also comes with stickers.
I would have a more interesting life just to have an excuse to write its events into one of these diaries. I would make more appointments if it meant keeping track of them in here.

Donkey Kong: Original Edition available to Club Nintendo members, with a catch

Looks like I’m going to have to buy the eShop versions of Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone or Crosswords Plus, because that’s the only way you can get Donkey Kong: Original Edition if you’re in North America.

This special edition version of the Donkey Kong NES game has never been released for sale, though it’s been offered as a Club Nintendo prize in Japan and as a pack-in bonus for the Red Wii in Europe. This release includes the Cement Factory stage missing from the original title.

Both Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone and Crosswords Plus go on sale today at stores for $29.99 each, but if you buy either of them through the eShop (likely for the same price) and register them with Club Nintendo before January 3, you’ll be able to get Donkey Kong for free.

[Update: Yay, there are three other games you can buy and register to get Donkey Kong. Nintendo has made Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Style Savvy Trendsetters, and Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask part of the deal.]

Kirby-themed playing cards, which I totally want and may not be able to get. These cute Kirby-shaped (or just circular, if you prefer) cards are available through a Club Nintendo contest. You have to register a copy of Kirby’s Dream Collection to enter.
Why do I want playing cards? I never play card games, not with my Pac-Man cards, or my Mega Man X cards…

Kirby 20th Anniversary medal, available from Club Nintendo in the US. There are only 1,000 of these, and Club Nintendo tends to have supply issues for popular products so… it’s probably sold out by now. Yup.
