Who needs OkCupid when you’ve got Colors 3D?
Oh God, you’re killing me, Masterclaw360. You can read the full profile here — someone actually responded!
Back in my day, if you wanted an online girlfriend in grade school, you had to rely on AOL chat rooms or create your own “Hello, My Future Girlfriend” web page. Kids have it so easy now, macking on girls on 3DS eShop painting applications.
Make sure to enjoy Masterclaw360’s other masterpieces posted on the app’s gallery site, like “I Hate School” and “Mario And Sonic Two Universes.”

I keep neglecting to check out the Colors 3D gallery, a failing on my part because people continue to put out some amazing paintings with the 3DS art app. People post pieces like this cute portrait there on the reg.
On a related and also awesome note: Pokerap Genius, brought to you by Maré Odomo.

Wow, someone made this amazing Legend of Zelda piece in Colors 3D, the eShop painting application (based on this awesome photo captured by The Zelda Project).
If someone like Lucsdf can create this on the 3DS’s small touchscreen, I imagine they’ll be able to make even more impressive stuff with the 3DS XL’s less cramped display.
Nintendo must have the same idea, as it will release New Art Academy, another entry for its drawing and painting tutorial series, soon in the U.S., Japan, and Europe.
Buy: Nintendo 3DS console (Flame Red, Pearl Pink, Black, & Blue)

Ninja Gaiden painting by jDeuce. The artist created this image, based on our favorite screen from the NES game, on a 3DS in Colors! 3D! In fact, you can watch the whole process as an animation here on the Colors Gallery.
I intend to check out Colors! 3D, but, like, there are non-software issues preventing me from creating any great works. If you know what I mean. I mean I can’t draw very well.

Colors 3D, the homebrew-DS-app-turned-legit-eShop-release, came out this week, and people are making awesome stuff like this Link’s Awakening homage.
I talked to the painting app’s creator Jens Andersson for my 3DS anniversary article recently, and he shared some interesting thoughts on working with Nintendo to get the game out, which I didn’t get to include in the final piece:

"It’s taken me the better part of a year to get Colors 3D out for the eShop — not because it’s a super-complex title, but because it’s taken that much time to work through all the feature execution details with Nintendo. They have gone out of their way to help me get the title out there with minimal compromise. At the same time, I think the title offered a good case study for Nintendo to solidify all the processes to make it possible for something like Colors 3D to exist on the 3DS.
This is mostly because Colors 3D has a heavy dose of user-generated content – to the level that hasn’t been done on the 3DS, or perhaps on any Nintendo platform before. It allows people to create, share and communicate, things we take for granted on a PC, but is still uncommon on consoles.”

You can grab Colors 3D on the eShop for $6.99. Make sure to check out the gallery for uploading your works, too.

First trailer for Colors! 3D, the painting program that started as a homebrew DS app, and will release to the 3DS eShop next month (more eShop releases announced).

It’s looking like a very nice alternative to Inchworm and Flipnote. You can follow its development here.

Shot of Colors! 3D, the upcoming eShop app spawned by the homebrew painting program for DS.
It’s awesome to hear that this will hook into the existing Colors! online community and gallery:

"… the gallery is often used by our users to learn from each other; both by watching painting playbacks as well as giving and receiving feedback. The gallery will be fully integrated directly into Colors! 3D, allowing you to interact with the community directly from your 3DS."

You can read about how developer Collecting Smiles intends to moderate adult content submitted to the gallery, as well as details on the app’s 3D painting feature, four-player local canvas sharing, and more in this informative Nintendo Life interview.
