Yaoi console wars (NSFW, naturally) →

Sankaku Complex posted scans from a manga about the video game console wars, depicting its combatants as three male students at Game Hard Academy. The above shot, cropped to remove the naughty bits, shows the PlayStation 3 on the bottom left, the Xbox 360 riding on top of him, and the Wii watching from a nearby window, waggling furiously. That’s the console wars for you.

How do the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable fit into this manga’s scenario? I’ve no idea, but I don’t intend to post shotacon here anytime soon.

Made in Ore Opens Old Wounds for Fanboys

Dreamcast fans never say die! This user-created Made in Ore microgame challenges you to blast a Famicom and PlayStation, leaving Sega’s system behind as the victor. Quite a different outcome from the sixth-generation game console war, when PlayStation 2 knocked Sega out of the hardware business. :o(

Notice that in the above clip, the little melody is taken from sales-disaster Shenmue, and the man pictured in the center is Hidekazu Yukawa, or Mr. Sega. As senior managing director for the company, Yukawa starred in several hilarious Dreamcast commercials in Japan, and actually appeared on the system’s retail box!

Speaking of Made in Ore and console wars, posting this Sony-bashing clip seems appropriate:

I don’t know about you, but I could just go on posting Made in Ore microgames every day until we have to eventually close the site (likely after all of our readers lose interest from this overload of Made in Ore videos).

“Friends Help Friends Who Are Under The Weather”

IGN Boards member Beundertaker posted a small collection of vignettes imagining the gaming console wars as a thing of the past, a time when swords have been beaten into ploughshares and when nasty forum threads have dissolved in a warm bowl of chicken soup.

I’ve seen sketches with similar sentiments before, but I particularly like the look of these, and nearly teared up (in a manly way) when I saw this:

So long as we’re talking about the Dreamcast, let’s enjoy this short animation created with the Nintendo DSi’s Moving Memo Pad software:
