Never seen that with a 3DS game cover ⊟
You can see what I mean when you skip to the 2:18 mark of this LinandKo unboxing for Harvest Moon: Connect to a New World. At first it looks like the inside cover is taking advantage of the box’s eco-friendly gaps, as we’ve seen in some other designs, but when you pull out the jacket, it’s a spot-the-difference game! Marvelous AQL is giving people plenty of value for their money with this 2-in-1 game pack.
Did you know that this is the fastest-selling Harvest Moon release in Japan? It’s already moved 131,000 copies during its first week in stores there, nearly exceeding Marvelous AQL’s lifetime forecast of 150,000. The series has performed well on 3DS, but something about this entry must have really resonated with buyers. Maybe it’s the Angora rabbits?
If you can’t wait for Natsume to announce/release this game for the West, here are some English “Let’s Play” videos posted by LinandKo.
Invader Invader(Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) 8-bit EDIT
Here at Animal Crossing bl- I mean, Tiny Cartridge, we enjoy the sweet sound of many, many things. Most recently I have been jamming to the bizarre J-pop/dubstep mashup of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s “Invader Invader” so I was pretty happy to discover this wonderful 8-bit edit of that track by KUNIO. It captures all the spirit of the track while avoiding the direct2midi sound of many “8-bit” covers you’ll find around the Internet. Check out his SoundCloud for more cool covers and tracks!
It’s about time someone covered a Kapp’n song
And Randell killed it — you can see the original lyrics and screenshots here. He recorded another track, too. Remember, K.K. isn’t the only Animal Crossing musician worth covering! Big ups to Player’s Pulse for the link.
Real human being, and a real chiptune cover
Gundersonmunderson created the graphics, animation, and music for this fun video. He emulated the Sega Genesis’ Yamaha YM2612 chip for this arrangement of College & Electric Youth’s "A Real Hero," which you should remember from the soundtrack for Drive.

Chipocrite • 8-Bit Lebowski: 100% Electronic
You may know Chipocrite from his many covers of songs like New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” (featured at the end of this fake Legend of Zelda movie trailer), “Also sprach Zarathustra” or even his own work on his album Hit and Run.
What you may not know about Chipocrite is that he is a HUGE fan of the movie The Big Lebowski, so much so that he went about covering several of the movie soundtrack’s songs, including the very specific The Gipsy Kings flamenco cover of The Eagles’ hit “Hotel California”, featured here.
Gravity Falls chip cover
Here’s a fantastic LSDJ cover of the theme from one of my favorite animated shows, Gravity Falls. The liberties Crab/Nestor Ovilla takes with the details of the theme are perfect, they make it a party jam without losing the very unique Gravity Falls melody.
p.s. if you haven’t seen Gravity Falls, you really should, even if only for the AMAZING animations Paul Robertson made for one episode.

Super Mario 3D Land screenshots and boxart (click for larger images). I think this is the first time we’ve seen parts of the packaging art creep into the right Nintendo 3DS strip? And check out the 8-bit-style stage!

NES dust cover. Apparently, sometime around 1990, Nintendo made official covers for the NES console; and, apparently, some of them were pink.
I’m a little surprised there wasn’t one of these in my house when I was younger. We were a Dust Cover Household, with a separate nylon-and-clear-vinyl cover for every audiovisual or video game device in the house, but they weren’t branded.
"Kasa ga nai" ("No Umbrella") by YMCK, from the album YMCK Songbook: Songs before 8bit.
This cover of an Inoue Yosui song adds an element of melancholy that shouldn’t work with YMCK’s bouncy Famicom pop, but oh god it so does.
