Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!

And now we have a trailer for the Diablo-style multiplayer game coming to 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC this fall. The gameplay clips are short, but it’s neat/weird/cool to see the voice actors behind Jake, Finn, and the Ice King talk about the game.

There’s also a trailer for the Regular Show 3DS game. It looks aight, I dunno.

First look at the new Adventure Time and Regular Show games

Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! (3DS, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC) looks nothing like the first 3DS game — that’s because this time it’s a Diablo-style, top-down hack’n slash with four-player support and over 100 dungeons.

Polygon previewed the game and noted that you can play as a variety of characters from the cartoon, including Jake and Finn of course:

"Cinnamon Bun is a kind of tank character who can take more damage, whereas Marceline is a wizard-like character who can absorb red projectiles from afar. Each character has innate abilities, so when we approached a boss (the Demon Cat with the power of approximate knowledge), we were able to assign Marceline to the enemy’s tail because it was shooting out red beams, while the melee characters approached it from the front and sides.

Each character also has an Imagination Meter which, when filled up, can be used for special attacks. Some characters’ special attacks wipe the screen of enemies, while others — like Cinnamon Bun — drop food items all over the screen, which could then be picked up by teammates and used to restore health.”

Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land, though, will be 2D, which makes sense seeing as it pays homage to the NES. But Polygon points out that it’s more than just a traditional platformer, as the twist in the 3DS game is you can switch to modes that are more like a sidescrolling shoot’em up and a top-down Fester’s Quest-esque shooter.

Both release this fall!

You can click these dudes to see bigger versions, if that’s what you’re into, or if you want to make sure Mordecai is wearing a fanny pack and not a red diaper for some reason.

I was so ready to play these games at E3, but D3P told me it was still too early to show them. :o( Both are scheduled to ship this fall for 3DS — Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW will also release for Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

New Adventure Time and Regular Show 3DS games!
D3P wil put out two games based on my favorite Cartoon Network shows this fall, including a new Adventure Time release for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows. Titled Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!, the game has players “exploring the mysteries surrounding a massive Secret Royal Dungeon deep below the Land of Ooo.” It will feature voices from the show and four-player co-op.
In Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby In 8-Bit Land, which we now know is a 3DS exclusive, the game’s eponymous characters “get transported into some of their favorite video games [where] they’ll have to use their best skills and unique abilities to traverse the various challenges to escape and get back home.”
Both are under development by WayForward — that news is either awesome or disappointing, depending on your opinion of the studio’s output and the first Adventure Time DS/3DS game.

Adventure Time DS and 3DS for $20
We all have more than enough to play without even thinking about our backlogs, but if you do decide to pick this up, judging by our list of upcoming releases, you will have time to play it during the first week of April. May also looks open for now, as far as 3DS releases go.
Then Animal Crossing: New Leaf ($5 off) hits on June 9, and we expect to have our schedule filled up afterward until forever.

Adventure Time 3DS is $20
Looking around Amazon, there are a few rad deals on 3DS games right now! Adventure Time: Hey Long Title is $19.99, as are Kingdom Hearts: Title I’m Definitely Not Writing and Resident Evil Revelaitons. That last one is coming to PS3, Xbox, PC, and Wii U in May, but it’ll be $50…

Assault the Cheating Boyfriend!

Coming to Japan’s eShop from D3Publisher, Assault the Cheating Boyfriend! Caught You Red-Handed has you playing the part of a suspicious girlfriend searching her man’s house for evidence that he’s gettin’ around.

The graphics are DSiWare quality, but it has one feature that takes advantage of the 3DS ‘capabilities — when you confront one of the four boyfriends available in this game, you can use the handheld’s motion controls to shake the system, which throws the evidence you’ve found at the scoundrel.

Assault the Cheating Boyfriend hits Japan next week or around $3. I’m crossing my fingers for a localized adaptation starring Joey Greco from Cheaters, storming in on adulterous couples and instigating fights.

The 3DS eShop now has a demo for Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?! It’s been almost a month since the game released to stores, but better late than never. Also, you can buy the full version as a digital copy on eShop, which is nice. Wait, the trial has a limit of five plays? Unacceptable!
eShop really went HAM today! Look at all these downloadable releases (and the release dates for other upcoming physical and digital games).

If you haven’t stumbled upon this Adventure Time DS/3DS Easter egg yourself yet, here’s the game’s fantastic “Secret Screen” that you can access after punching in the famous Konami code at the “Touch to Start” screen.

Secret screen, this is the secret secret screen. Ba-da-da-da-da-da-da secret screen.

After all the food I’ve eaten today, I think I’m going to go with the second choice. Maybe tomorrow, Finn!
I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy/play this or ZombiU for the holiday weekend, as both have received a lot of praise recently. But then I remembered Crashmo came out today. And that there are so many books I’ve been meaning to read. I bet I end up playing/doing nothing because I am terrible at picking one thing I want to do.
