Cave Story 3D’s Egg Corridor music, by Danny Baranowsky. I believe the smartest thing Nicalis can do to instill confidence in the 3DS remake of Cave Story is to continue tweeting samples of the new music. Everything I’ve heard sounds great! Different from the original Pixel version, but still rad.

“Mimiga Village” by Danny Baranowsky, from the Cave Story 3D soundtrack. The new music by Baranowsky and Dustin Kulwicki seems like the least controversial update given to Nicalis and NIS America’s new 3DS version of the game: it’s just awesome.

Snippet of Cave Story’s “Bushlands” theme remixed by Danny Baranowsky for the upcoming 3DS remake. That beat drop toward the end of this sample is soooo fresh.
Those of you familiar with indie games will recognize Baranowsky’s work from titles like Super Meat Boy, Canabalt, and many other releases. As much as I love Daisuke Amaya’s original and very catchy soundtrack, I can’t wait to hear all the new Cave Story 3D arrangements from Baranowsky and Dustin Kulwicki.

Gravity Hook has been available online for some time now, but Christian Nutt pointed me to it earlier today, and I’ve been loading the game up every other hour since!
I could see something like this working really well on the DS (or iPhone)! For now, it’s available as a free Flash game, courtesy of programmer Adam Atomic and composer Danny Baranowsky.
