All right, I’m not likely to make it out to a Best Buy, but I’m super curious about this, so somebody go try it out. Nintendo is offering a coupon through the “Nintendo Zone” wifi hotspots in Best Buy stores, through which you can save 50% on a selection of games.
According to CAG, the sale goes through Feb. 5 and includes Rayman 3D, Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, Asphalt 3D, and Madden Football. I’m not terribly interested in the selection, but the implication is wonderful. We have demos for retail games, good downloadable games, and now exclusive Wifi hotspot content. The 3DS is starting to live up to its promises.

In addition to its “Buy One, Get One 40% Off” sale, Amazon has cut at least 50 percent off 350 of its games and accessories, including a small selection of DS/3DS junk.
On the DS side, there are nice deals for Dragon Quest V and Solatorobo. For 3DS owners, you can get DualPenSports, Steel Diver, Pilotwings Resort, and the Nintendogs + Cats releases — all for under $17 each.

If no one loved you enough to leave a few quality games under your tree last weekend, Amazon has another sale that will let you snag a couple for relatively cheap.
The site has included nearly 600 3DS, DS, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PSP titles in its “Buy One, Get One 40% Off” sale. As usual, many of them have been marked at full price, but you can still get a good deal for some games.
Nano Assault, for example, is only $19.99. Cooking Mama 4, 999, and Chrono Trigger are also all pretty cheap. You can get Mario Kart 7, Devil Survivor: The OC, and Cave Story 3D at a slight discount with the deal, too.

It’s an awkward time to be shopping online (you might be expecting Santa to bring you some games, for example) but if you have nothing else to do this evening, you can browse a selection of DS and 3DS games that Amazon is selling two-for-$40.
The grouping is pretty small, but you can totally get 999 and Bit.Trip Saga, or Devil Survivor and Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns!

XSEED’s holiday “Sale of Unrivaled Insanity” provides an uncommonly good deal on the weird Grasshopper game Flower, Sun, and Rain. It’s just $10 on the XSEED shop right now, as is Ragnarok DS, Ivy the Kiwi? on Wii (which is great), and a bunch of other stuff!

Update: It’s DQIV again. I expected the “full-fledged Dragon Quest adventure” to be an original one, not a port. Anyway, it’s $11.99 right now.
At 2:15pm PST today (5:15pm EST), Amazon will offer a limited-time Lightning Deal on what is likely to be Dragon Quest IX. “A full-fledged Dragon Quest adventure comes to Nintendo DS for the first time,” according to the hint.
I’m not sure how much it will be — Amazon doesn’t even have any in stock at the moment (except for third party sellers) to compare it to. But I encourage you to check the game out, even if you don’t really do the JRPG thing anymore! I didn’t think I was going to get into it, and it consumed my life for months.
