Scion xB: Can I Really Be the Prinny Car?
NIS’s Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero-decorated car is totally great. As is their life-size Prinny costume. I would happily drive one while wearing the other.

As resplendent as this PSP game looks and sounds, I’m surprised by how boring the platforming and combat seem, even with the perspective-tilting air attacks.
Siliconera, however, says that there’s a deeper “hip attack” and combo system that might be worth looking into, so maybe it’s still worth your import dollars. The Boss Fight (7:00 mark) looks fun, too.
According to a close source who would like to remain anonymous, if you’re looking for a handheld side-scrolling action game, this should be the title you sink your dollars into, not Metal Slug 7.
I’m sure drill instructor Cindy is crying her eyes out right now over this recommendation.

This trailer is from way back in June, but I’ve never seen it, so it’s likely you haven’t either. Card Sagas Wars is a homemade PC project created with M.U.G.E.N, a 2D fighting game engine.
Using ripped backgrounds along with sprites that’ve been redrawn for a consistent look, the game is a fanboy’s dream, allowing for four-player brawls and implausible match-ups, like Samus vs. Crono.
Last I heard, 900+ playable characters were planned for Card Sagas Wars, but that roster might’ve been scaled back since then. Even if a few hundred fighters were cut, though, the character selection still puts Super Smash Bros. Brawl to shame.
No word yet on when we’ll see a playable release for this!

Anyway, this trailer for upcoming PSP game Prinny: Ore ga Shujinkou de Iinsuka? (Can I Be The Protagonist?) is wicked! I love how the perspective tilts at some points. I’m not sure what purpose it serves, but it’s bad ass.
How awesome would it be if the Prinny just hung in the air for a few seconds, suspended, before a blazing aura engulfed his penguin form and a mane of wild, blonde hair appeared atop his head. Pretty frickin’ awesome, right?
On the topic of NIS, the company’s American online store Rosenqueen has added two interesting preorder items — a compilation strategy guide for all three Disgaea 1 releases (PS2, PSP, and DS) and a Totally DS Touch & Play Set.
The latter offer, priced at $59.98, includes Disgaea DS, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, a Prinny Touch Pen, a Rhapsody music CD, and one of seven Disgaea Beauty of War figures.

I know it’s a trivial and hypercritical complaint, but someone please tell NIS America that Disgaea DS deserves better than to have the Hobo typeface strewn over its artwork, even if it is just a random banner on the series’ official site.
If I was Disgaea character designer Takehito Harada, I would murder the American web production lackey who desecrated my work in such a way. Then again, if I was Takehito Harada, I’d also ask myself why I’ve been drawing an underage girl as a skimpily clad bondage queen (though technically, Etna ia 1400+ years old).

Finally a Disgaea game that my non-strategy-oriented brain can enjoy! The latest Famitsu shows a new PSP spinoff called Prinny: Ore ga Shujinkou de Iin suka? (Can I be the protagonist?). It appears to be a run-and-gun! Can NIS even do those? It also has a day/night system of some kind, obviously.
Check out the full-page scan at Wii@Everyday. Now I’m hoping I can scam a PSP off of some wasteful person who’s planning to get rid of their year-old PSP-2000 for one of the new ones.
