Described as a “NES speedrun in real life”, the video above deftly combines a rocking remix of “Streets of Desolation,” from the NES Batman game from Sunsoft, and footage of NYC, circa the early 80s, of dudes dancing around Central Park (along with some guy that vaguely resembles Full House’s Dave Coulier, dressed as a purple superhero). I’ve been racking my brains for the past fifteen minutes in a vain attempt to find the right words to properly convey its awesomeness and simply cannot. Either you get it or you don’t, simple as that. Kudos to its creator, “docfuture1”!

His other network television/video game mash-ups are also worth checking out, like this merging of Family Matters and PaRappa The Rapper. Plus this mix of Magnum PI, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Sonic the Hedgehog, similar to the first video, isn’t half bad either. I’ll end this post with one last video, that’s short but still very much sweet; if only the real Sonic Unleashed was actually like this:
