More Doki Doki Majo?! The third game in the series is called Doki Majo Plus, and it has an awesome logo, as well as new scenarios, new characters (like Kanan Kiara, seen here), and new systems! Will it be any more interesting to play?

New Year card from SNK Playmore. Every year, the company puts a bunch of delightful New Year cards on their website, all featuring artwork of their characters in divergent art styles, and all with charming Engrish greetings.
I posted a couple of the cards from 2008 on DS Fanboy, but the rest have been removed from the website, just as the eight 2009 cards, featuring art from the various SNK fighters as well as Doki Doki Majo Shinpan and Kimino Yuusha, will be on January 4. Save them all now, is what I’m saying.
My favorite is the one above, featuring many SNK characters in a flat, chibi style. Strangely, it’s Maho Akai (from Doki Doki Majo Shinpan), in a cow-patterned skirt, who informs us that 2009 is the year of the cow. What is it with Maho and cows?

Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2 Duo! Maria Abe costume. I don’t know how I missed this when the game came out in July, but SNK Playmore has a set of character costumes for sale on their website. You too can look this disappointed in how your life has turned out!
I believe they come in men’s sizes too.

Akihabara’s Sofmap Main Branch has a section of DS and Wii games that it’s trying to get rid of with discount prices, just like any other video game retailer, but this store’s stock of unsold copies numbers in the thousands.
AkibaBlog counted 1,900 DS games (from about 24 titles) and 600 Wii games (from about 13 titles). Here are the numbers and prices for some of the DS games:
- Another Code: Two Memories - 200 copies, $10.50
- Chōsōjū Mecha MG - 120 copies, $10.30
- Shaberu! DS Oryouri Navi - 80 copies, $10.30
- LOZ: Phantom Hourglass - 70 copies, $20.80

Artwork for the latest Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! audio drama CD. SNK knows what people want to see from Doki Doki Majo Shinpan, though not, apparently, which species they’d like to see it on.

Better get caught up with the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! storyline while you can, because a sequel is on the way. The teaser doesn’t say what form the “new project” will take, so it could be a third DS game (the economical choice) or an anime or something.

If you didn’t pick up Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2! Duo during the last Play-Asia sale, now they’re selling the limited edition for $40. The price is a bit high for an impulse novelty purchase, but it’s low for this item, which usually sells for about $95.
I passed on several good games yesterday while I was out shopping, and yet I’m totally considering this. Thanks, Play-Asia.

Do I dare spend twenty bucks on Play-Asia’s weekly special, Doki Doki Majo Shinpan Duo? Like every other DS fan, I’ve had a bizarre fascination with SNK’s witch-touching series. Chris Kohler’s disappointment with the drudgery of the first game only intensified the feeling for me. It’s a game about bothering young girls … and it’s boring? That only makes it seem more hilarious to me.
I guess I’m just predisposed to love all DS oddities. Maybe I can convince myself it’s for the site in some capacity.
