“Playful” by Scott Jon Siegel, my favorite pixelart right now. Scott, who used to write for Joystiq but now works at social gaming dev Playdom, created this for a business card he’s working on for himself and his wife, game/tech/sex blogger Bonnie Ruberg. I like the scene because it reminds me of myself and my own wife; she’s even a redhead.

Speaking of great pixelart, definitely check out Alex “Enso” Bond’s Top 20 list of his favorite pieces featured at his Pixelstyle blog over the past year.

Also, I just saw Fort90 link this darling video, which is more lovey dovey than pixel-y but still fits with this post:

Justin Wallis explains:

“A found love letter transferred into a 1998 - 2000 Japanese dating game?? Sega Saturn style? These graphics “R” so choppy … but I wouldn’t trade them for the world!! Be careful not to scratch the disc!! This is lo-fi!! It is the beginning of a new millennium!! It is MILKBBI’s KOINU ♥AI~ Puppy Love!~*~*~*”

NES ROM flyer for Pulsewave’s August show tonight.

If you like chiptune music and live in New York City, make sure to hit up Pulsewave at the Tank tonight for the 2 Player Productions farewell show — it’s also the release party for the Blip Festival 2008 live CD!

No Carrier, Enso, and musician Baron Knoxburry produced the flyer above. You can download the NES ROM here.

Beautiful NES ROM flyer for Pulsewave’s May 2009 show, featuring music by Animal Style, graphics by Alex “Enso” Bond, and code by Don “No Carrier” Miller.

“Stravinsky, Nijinsky, Roerich and Diaghilev captured it in 1913. Martha Reeves and the Vandellas picked it up again in 1964.

It’s the feeling of Spring and the urge to dance in the streets.

With the change of seasons comes an unbuttoning of shirts, a raising of skirts, a lowering of inhibitions and the urge to cut loose as the grass grows under tapping toes.

This months Pulsewave is here to help.”

Chiptune artists Minusbaby, Lutin, and Adam/Stern are all slated to perform at the event this Saturday in New York City’s The Tank. VJs Paris, noteNdo, and JYK will provide the visual entertainment. As always, my jealousy over those of you attending is tremendous.

You can download the above flyer’s NES ROM, which includes a gallery mode for just viewing the images and listening to the music, at this link.

Video invitation for Pulsewave’s third anniversary party. Great music for a likely fantastic show.

I really should have posted this days ago instead of while the event is taking place, but I didn’t get back home from my trip to California until a few hours ago, and I came across the video just now, too.

As with the last Pulsewave video flyer, Don “No Carrier” Miller coded this piece while Alex Mauer composed the music. Alex “enso” Bond contributed the graphics.
