“Objection” earrings by RedFlare. I wanted to post some Ace Attorney stuff, but I didn’t want to risk the stigma that comes along with posting “gaming cakes.” You want to see cakes, go over to Capcom-Unity. They’re actually really nice.

Anyway, earrings! I think they’re really neat-looking, and I like the idea, but I don’t know who’s going to wear these things.

Game Boy tube dress by SewOeno, made “from soft gray knit and black fabric.” This particular dress is intended for people 5’5” and under, though if you’re taller and you want to look like a big Game Boy with part of a person sticking out of either end, you can contact the crafter.

Somehow, the big, rectangular Game Boy makes for a cute dress (at least, in terms of dresses that resemble game consoles — I’m certainly not going to make any pronouncements about women’s fashion). At the very least, I certainly condone the continued use of the Game Boy’s likeness as a sort of icon for retrogaming.

I Want to Rock” and “Tick Tick Boom” by Fort Awesome Studios. When Offworld posted Fort Awesome’s Parappa/Lammy print, done with the same “printed on vintage book page” effect, I didn’t pay much attention, because I’d seen that one before (from the last time we went looking at the shop, at the “Cyberhadji” account). Then I saw the new Mega Man piece on Fort90’s journal and realized that I’d made a huge mistake.

I’m pretty sure that having these framed in my office (which, I’ve just realized, is painted a close-to-Mega-Man blue), would enhance my productivity. Or my morale. Point is, something is getting enhanced. I just love the colors and the halftone shading.

Shyguy DS case by Etsy crafter nerdlord. Perfect if your DS is, in fact, a shy guy and needs a hiding place.

I love the little arms. More DS accessories need little arms.

After all that chatter about Sonic, this necklace just seemed fitting. Does he sit in the middle, or more on the side, with rings on the other side? This is not jewelry—it’s a puzzle.

Perhaps the coolest etsy store yet →

We’ve seen some badass gear on Etsy, but punzie’s Pixelated quilts and pillows are pretty awesome, if only for the sheer amount of work that goes into them. I really admire anyone who can make things that are useful, yet cool. The closest I ever get to doing anything like that is adding some parsley to dinner to make it all prettified.

Spotted the already-sold Metroid quilt first at Sprite Stitch and was inspired to check out the whole store. Punzie’s got some really nice stuff—but you’re gonna pay for the effort.

Etsy is just full of stuff I secretly want to buy for JC, and since this is customizable, I could load it up with random things like Yo! Noid, just for him.

These NES cart bracelets are available for $35, which seems like a lot until you realize that someone is sitting around making the carts out of clay. There are lots of other things, too, like cufflinks and earrings.

You probably don’t want to buy a DS case right now, since you gotta start saving for that DSi (if you didn’t make the jump and import). But if you were, say, me, and you loved spending money on shit you didn’t need, you might think this DS case was pretty sweet.

It’s so cute that it’s destroying my ability to construct good sentences. It’s big, though, and I like a snug fit, so perhaps I can resist.

Tiny Contest: Totally Thematic Halloween Edition

For the latest Tiny Contest, we’ve decided to offer two prizes that each correspond to one aspect of the full Halloween experience. One winner will receive a Zombie BBQ poster, measuring about 24” x 36”, which represents the oooh scary part.

The other winner will receive a Game Boy Color-style DS Lite pouch, handmade by Etsy crafter janis13. It’s basically a Halloween costume for your DS, except that unlike the Beetlejuice suit I wore when I was 8, it’s perfectly appropriate for everyday use.

As usual, all you need to win are your (real, not just ‘GIMME STUFF’) comments.  Starting now and ending at 11:59 PM CST Tuesday, October 21, every comment you make on this and upcoming posts will enter you for these prizes. Commenting on this post counts as one entry, and on any post after this counts as two.
