“BGM 3” from Final Fantasy Gaiden: Four Warriors of Light soundtrack. Square Enix updated its Final Fantasy Gaiden site with two new streaming songs, this charming track and an 8-bit version of the main theme. I almost included the latter instead, but I couldn’t get enough of this laidback, “exploring the town and shops” song.
Some fabulous art to to accompany the music:

Around the 1:40 mark, it looks like your characters are turned into cats, mice, and dogs? If that’s the case, then count me in on this shiz. Plus, there’s a a crying baby with purple tentacles (1:45). Awesome.

The Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden boxart.
This is a sharp departure from the series’s usual packaging, though this is also an uncommon Final Fantasy game. I really like this art! Just don’t count on seeing it when (if) Final Fantasy Gaiden shows its face in the States.
Also, man, these kids are pale. It’s like a party of albinos.

This top-notch track was ripped from Square Enix’s newly launched Japanese site for the game — the chiptune and orchestral mix is fitting for what the company is promising will be “newly retold classic”, a modernization of the first Final Fantasy’s formula in which four adventurers come together to save the world.

As everyone suspected, Matrix Software, the studio behind the FFIII and FFIV remakes, is working on this title while Takashi Tokita, who headed titles such as Parasite Eve and Chrono Trigger, serves as director.
The game will support up to four players, though Square Enix hasn’t specified in what capacity. It will also feature a “Crown System” for changing your characters’ job.
