Game Arts releases Lunar Silver Star Story novel on Kindle →

Game Arts has translated the first novel based on the Lunar series, Lunar Silver Star Story: The Call of the Wind, and put it up on Amazon as a Kindle download.

It’s kind of awesome that there are low-risk digital venues for selling this kind of supplementary material — sort of like the low-risk digital venues that allow companies like MonkeyPaw and, yes, Game Arts and XSEED to release niche games.

You don’t need a Kindle to download a Kindle book. There are free apps you can grab for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry to read it.

Buy: Lunar (games for PSP, PS1, GBA, and, uh, DS)

Tower of Shadow, Last Window, & Magic Obelisk desktop backgrounds

Three studios put out attractive wallpapers for their games this week, and I’ve collected them here in case you missed them. So, if you’re desperate to find something new to decorate your desktop, here you go!

Hudson released this Tower of Shadow image as a reward for completing a Flash demo of the game’s controls. NeoGAFfer Agnates posted the full wallpaper here, though, so you can grab it without playing the trial.

These other excellent backgrounds come from Cing’s Last Window and Game Arts’s The Magic Obelisk. Download them in your size of choice by clicking the images:
