Shots of Hori’s Mario Kart 7 Handle for 3DS in the wild. It’s a silly accessory, usable only when you’re using the game’s gyro-enabled first-person controls — which I still haven’t felt compelled to explore after a week of messing with Mario Kart 7 — but I suppose there are kids out there who will want this for some reason.

For those dudes, you can import the grip now from Play-Asia for $12.90. I hear Hori is bringing it to Europe, so don’t be surprised if it ends up in the U.S. eventually, too.

Mario Kart 7 Handle for Nintendo 3DS. I’ve been posting a lot of grip peripherals lately, but this one is (in theory) different. It’s a steering wheel peripheral meant to be used with Mario Kart 7’s first-person gyro mode.

Of course, any of those other grips would work just as well — as would just holding the 3DS — but none of those would feel like holding a steering wheel (through which you can somehow see in front of the car).

3DS Sugo Grip by Hori. So, what do you get when one of the best accessory companies in the world makes a silly grip add-on? Well, it’s not finely polished wood, but it does feature two telescoping grips for customization and portability.

It also has a little kickstand thing in the back so it can act as a stand.

Pretty nice grip peripheral, actually! Too bad Nintendo’s own grip accessory includes an extra analog stick, giving this one no chance of competing. Still, if you’re interested, you can totally buy one of these here.

Capdase DSi cases with grips →

This line of Capdase DSi cases — available in white, blue, red, pink, and black — features silicone grips designed to protect the hinge and prevent the system from sliding when placed on a flat surface.

Japanese online shop Rakuten is selling them for ¥1,680 ($19) before shipping, but you can probably get them for $18.50 with shipping from eBay. Here are more shots of the case from different angles:

Capdase sells a similar line with silicone sleeves instead of clear plastic, for the same price and also available on eBay. Both lines come with an extra stylus, but the silicone version has a bigger pen-like stylus that can attach to a system strap/cap.
