Amazon is currently selling Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, Kyle Gray and EA Tiburon’s creative platformer/puzzler hybrid, for just $9.96! The sale is through a third-party retailer, though, so you’ll need to pay a few extra bucks for shipping.

These two discounts are straight from Amazon:

“Gentlemanly Discussion” by Jesse Harjunen.

My mind has been on Professor Layton a lot lately due to two current Twitter debates about the Englishman:

  1. Is the Professor’s Twitter feed officially sanctioned by Nintendo of America? If so, what’s the deal with the “Grand Smash Brothers Tournament” jokes?
  2. Is Mr. Layton the top or the bottom in his pederastic relationship with Luke?

While I’m still not certain on the first question, I believe the answer to the latter query is obvious.

No Big Ben mech, uzis for Henry Hatsworth

Speaking with Nintendo Power about Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, EA Tiburon’s Kyle Gray noted several things that were cut from the platformer/puzzler hybrid, like jetpacks, uzis, and the Big Ben mech:

“We knew we needed a mech sequence — it’s practically a law in games these days — and for some reason, Big Ben just popped in there.

For me, the Big Ben mech sequence is where the game originally got its character, but we decided to cut in the end. Luckily, there are several other exciting sequences that still retain the feeling of the original.”

Here’s the mech sequence from an early Hatsworth prototype that Gray showed off at GDC earlier this year:

Apparently, the eponymous English explorer can still summon an “indestructible steam-powered mech.”

It’s a small touch, but I love that this Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure boxart has EA’s logo in a monocle.

EA Tiburon project lead Kyle Gray on Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure’s mechanics and story.

I have been pretty pumped about this title, as I usually am with any puzzle game hybrid. This could be the next thing. Mark my words.
