Arkanoid and Kung-Fu Master shirts by The King of Games’ DotLike line. These are less ornate than the usual KOG/DotLike shirts, especially that Arkanoid shirt that’s just the logo on the front — but they still got the details right.

…By which I mean the Arkanoid shirt has the attract mode text, which is the best thing about that game, on the back. They sell for ¥5,145 ($67) each, and are currently only available through the Japanese shop.

“King of Famicom,” the Famicom crossover fighting game I desperately wish could be real. I’m a total sucker for these Famicom crossover videos (like Sikamako’s “Michael Fantasy” series).

Poor Spelunker! Even his most powerful, effective attack is based on his crippling weakness. My favorite attack is also from Team Irem: Thomas’s random tonfa fusillade, consisting of “Tonfa Punch!,” “Tonfa Kick!,” “Tonfa Beam!” … “Tonfa Balance!,” “Tonfa Rolling!,” “Tonfa Pushup!,” “Tonfa Do Nothing!” and “Tonfa Escape!” That tonfa is useful!

Kung Fu 2 trailer (retro remake, not Spartan X2).

KNPMaster completed and released his update of Irem’s beat’em-up, which adds new graphics, areas, mechanics, and more. I could do without the blinking combo text and fireballs, but the revamped look is very nice!

Is that boss in the wifebeater supposed to be rapper Rick Ross? It would be fantastic if he made his entrance with, “I’m the second boss that you’ve seen thus far.”

“Amor Pixeleado” by Samir Sanchez.

I would love to have a collection of tender moments captured from NES/Famicom games. And in case you’ve never seen this ending scene from Kung Fu, here you go:

“Tank Engine and Thomas” by Masao. The delightful Masao has posted enough cracked-out new art to warrant another roundup, and I’m so glad! The combination of utterly ridiculous pop-culture/video game mashups with Masao’s detailed style make the art seem kind of … deadpan? Like, it’s wacky as hell, but he delivers it with the artistic equivalent of a straight face. Maybe I don’t actually know what I’m talking about, but I know this:

is basically like treasure. Gotta Hundred-Hand Slap ‘em All!

And now for two celebratory Sega anniversary images, for the Dreamcast’s 10th and the Mega Drive’s 20th:

Fuck yeah Seaman! Fuck yeah, Mr. Yukawa! Thank you, Ulala!

Fuck yeah guy in a Sonic suit! Fuck yeah Opa-Opa! Fuck yeah Tyris motherfucking Flare! SEGA!!!!! While I’m at it, fuck yeah Wonder Pets!

Uh, happy Valentine’s Day!
