Dear Dad Strip, EXP Extravaganza Zip

While this never happened to me — I haven’t seen my own pops since I was three years old, so I hardly remember his face! — I imagine this is pretty common with kids whose parents have separated. Odomo explains how he drew from his own experiences to put together this comic:
“[The] first time this happened to me, that I can remember, was on the number 26 bus going from Wallingford to downtown Seattle. It was crowded. A people on their way to work. I was on my way to school and tired and listening to music or a podcast or trying to read a book.
Anyway, it was just some Asian guy.”
This reminds me of that recent Intervention episode with boxer Rocky Lockridge, in which one of his sons talks about looking over his shoulder at every black man that passes him, hoping it’s his father.
