Another Monster Hunter 4 3DS ⊟
Here’s another one of these — these being Monster Hunter bundles, or limited edition handhelds from other countries that will never make it here, or whatever. I ain’t even mad. We’re for sure gonna get the gold Zelda 3DS XL, so it’s all good, right? That announcement is just around the corner, I’m certain of it.. <fidgets>
This system and game bundle comes out in Japan on November 7, priced at ¥19,800 ($200).
Gold, limited edition The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL bundle releasing in Europe next month ⊟
This releases on November 22 for £199.99 ($319), and comes with a downloadable copy of the game. Retail copies of the game in Europe, by the way, have a reversible cover with the all-gold/U.S. art and a full-color version.
If this isn’t enough proof (along with the Fire Emblem 3DS XL bundle and the Chotto Mario handhelds) that Europe is winning the special edition systems war as far as Western territories go, Nintendo also intends to release the amazing Year of Luigi 3DS XL there on November 1 for £179.99 ($287).
I’m 98 percent sure Nintendo will bring the Zelda 3DS XL at least to the U.S. around Black Friday, just like it did with the Zelda 3DSes and DS Lites.
Here’s an easy way to get a Pikachu 3DS XL ⊟
Just play Pokémon XY with a female trainer, and you should wake up with one of these limited edition systems. Sure, it’s just a virtual handheld, but it’s cheaper than the $300-$500 you’d pay for one on eBay or Amazon.
Pokémon X/Y 3DS XLs coming to U.S., Europe ⊟
Two weeks before Pokémon X and Y release on October 12 (the same day the Nintendo 2DS models launch), Nintendo will release these rad red and blue limited edition 3DS XLs featuring legendaries Xerneas and Yveltal — that beautiful gold system isn’t making it over here unfortunately. Priced at $200 each, these XLs ship on September 27, and do not include copies of the game, digital or physical.
Also announced during Nintendo’s Direct presentation this morning, a Pokémon Bank service/app that lets players store up to 3,000 creatures online from X/Y — great for collectors and people who want to pass their Pokémon down to their descendants. There’s a new (presumably DSiWare) app called Poké Transfer, too, that enables players to move creatures from Black/White and Black/White 2 to Pokémon Bank — the catch is that there’s an annual service fee for the Bank service, though there will be an initial free trial period.

Excellent Doraemon 3DS, and okay One Piece 3DS XLs
Unfortunately, that fantastic Doraemon 3DS is a Taiwan exclusive, and a contest prize at that. Those two 3DS LLs will be sold normally in Japan. The “Chopper Pink” one is pretty cool.
Dazzling limited edition Pokemon X/Y 3DS XLs
Cot damn those are pretty. The flashy Blue one, which comes with an SD card with either X or Y preinstalled, will debut in Japanese stores alongside the game’s launch on October 12. The exquisite Gold one, though, will be sold exclusively through Japan’s Pokemon Center stores.
Japan also has a new Pokemon X/Y trailer you can watch here — it previews the 3DS game’s character customization, new battle features, Fairy-type Pokemon, and the Player Search System.

Super limited edition Animal Crossing 3DS
Whoa, I’ve no idea how Zach got a hold of this special edition system, but that 3DS looks crazy tasty. Might head down to the local grocery store and see if they have any of these left in stock today.
In case you missed it last night — we recorded a special Animal Crossing podcast for Tiny Cartridge!
Iwata Attorney and Monster Hunter 4 XLs
The highlights from this morning’s Ace Attorney 5 and Monster Hunter 4-centered Nintendo Direct in Japan! As you can probably tell from the limited edition hardware release date, Monster Hunter 4 will ship to Japanese stores on September 14 (with a demo coming out on July 25). You can watch a new trailer for the game below:
Metallic Red 3DS, Eevee XL coming to Japan
Nintendo will release two more 3DS editions across the Pacific, including an Eevee-themed/striped XL that will be sold through a lottery at Pokémon Center locations starting June 22.
The Metallic Red system is a standard-sized 3DS that will hit stores in Japan on June 13.

Ace Attorney 5's Japanese boxart, LE extras
So, by the looks of this game’s new prosecutor/antagonist, this is going to be a Guilty Gear crossover or whatevs. Nice feather.
Capcom will put out an Extended Edition for the game that will include the cute case pictured above, as well as a Figurine Edition that will include a mystery item. Maybe it’s the figurine. And then there’s the Limited Edition that includes both. Everything here releases on July 25.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL bundle for the U.S.
As expected! Priced at $219, releasing with the game on June 9. It’s also coming to Europe on June 14. The system will include a pre-installed copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
