Yes, you are, Wii Fit Trainer
I’m not sure about the original source for this. And I don’t know why there’s a hashtag here, or why this is a blinking GIF instead of a straight-up JPG. But I do know that when I play as the Wii Fit Trainer, I’m going to be yelling out “Bitch I’m fabulous!” whenever I dodge attacks.

Super limited edition Animal Crossing 3DS
Whoa, I’ve no idea how Zach got a hold of this special edition system, but that 3DS looks crazy tasty. Might head down to the local grocery store and see if they have any of these left in stock today.
In case you missed it last night — we recorded a special Animal Crossing podcast for Tiny Cartridge!
Real mature, The Denpa Men 2
I’m unsure whether this lowbrow humor was intentional or — as Niko pointed out — the localization team just missed it when translating the kooky eShop JRPG. Then again, this wouldn’t be the first time Genius Sonority acted like a bunch of Denpa Boys with its jokes.
Because it really does look like a poptart
The limited edition Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL, that is.

Important days and phrases to know when visiting America
Again, this is a Nintendo-published game? I wonder if any American ever gave this DS language trainer (Tabi no Yubisashi Kaiwachou DS: America) a pass before Nintendo published it in Japan.
And did the people developing this at TOSE realize just how inappropriate some of the phrases they’re teaching Japanese tourists are?

Oh my god, this is a Nintendo game?
Tose developed this language training import, Tabi no Yubisashi Kaiwachou DS: America, but Nintendo actually published it in Japan seven years ago. Zanxon posted these, and tells me that this is from the American slang section — for instance, the second screenshot tells you what to say at a baseball game.
The best part about this — other than that it’s a DS game teaching Japanese tourists to yell out obscenities when they attend a baseball game in the States — is that you get a spoken version of each phrase, too.
10-year-old Eric would have loved this. Wait, 30-year-old Eric still loves this.

Hey, I just got the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon demo
And this is… what happens when you meet Swanna in PMD: Gates to Infinity. Shout outs to Karkachu for taking a photo of this convo and posting it online. Additional out-shouting to the eShop for being so awesome today.

Thanks for the protip, Nikki!
I hope Miiverse is home to more hilarity like this, and I wish the same for the unofficial Miiverse Tumblr where I found these images. I’m kicking myself over not being the one to start this site.

Nintendo UK’s clever 404 error page. The error pages for Japan, the U.S. and Australia aren’t as fun. :o/

I photoshopped these silly crime novel covers almost five years ago for a game preview (Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles) I wrote up on DS Fanboy/Joystiq.
Imagine my surprise when they popped up on my Tumblr dashboard last night with 30K+ likes and reblogs! Back when I posted them, hardly anyone noticed the images. I ain’t even mad that 99.99% of the dudes seeing them now have no idea who Jake Hunter is or that I made these — it’s just great to have people finally appreciating them.
The pizza roll one is particularly popular. I’ve seen it pop up on Facebook and meme/social sites a bunch of times. It’s pretty funny that all these people in the West have been sort of introduced to an obscure Japanese adventure game series through a random image about pizza rolls. And that I played a part in that!
Kids playing outside, enjoying the swings at their local park (click for a larger image). Shout out to the kid on the far right, who’s so engrossed in his game that he hasn’t bothered to take off his backpack yet. You have proved to be a real human being. And a real hero.
