Here is Marth dancing to Kesha’s “Tik Tok” ⊟
Cot damn, Marth, are you bringing these moves to the new Smash? He doesn’t even need to unsheathe his sword to cut that rug.
The video is a production by Shinju Kobayashi, made in MikuMikuDance — which JC tells me is a a fan-made Hatsune Miku program that people use to make dance routines for 3D models. Shinju has posted a bunch of these with Fire Emblem's Marth and Roy to Youtube. You can watch a few past the break!
Marth looks different… ⊟
This mysterious pink puffball in the mask… could it really be the legendary hero Marth? But… isn’t that also Marth standing next to him? Gods, I’m so confused! The image are via these Famitsu scans. Note the lack of visible feet!
Okay, that’s a lot of Marth. I can’t account for the mystery pink Marth, but Lucina seems to be somewhat clone-like in play compared to OG Marth, which Masahiro Sakurai explains in this translated column:
"Lucina uses the same techniques as Marth, a fighter with whom I’m sure most of you are already familiar. I even went so far as to make their strength, speed, and special attacks almost identical.
However, what sets Lucina apart is the fact that the strength of her attacks is uniform along the blade. Marth’s playstyle emulates the elegant swordplay of a fencer by dealing more damage when he strikes with the tip of his blade, but the damage Lucina deals is evened out. Thus, I think Lucina will be much easier than Marth for novice players to play with.”
He says tweaked characters like that play differently enough to earn their own slot, unlike simple alternate costumes like Wii Fit trainer. “When two such similar characters function in an even slightly different manner, I give them a separate spot on the roster since that will affect battle records and whatnot.”
Dannnnggggg. That’s a lot classier than the Tharja figure, for sure.
Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing figures on the way
Spotted at this weekend’s Wonder Festival show at Japan was this 1/8-scale figure of Fire Emblem: Awakening's hex-happy Tharja, which will be produced by Max Factory.
Max Factory also has a “Marth” Figma figure in the works, and GSC showed off this Nendoroid for Animal Crossing: New Leaf's secretary Shizue.
New round of Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC out
Fire Emblem: Awakening's first paid downloadable content is now available at your local Outrealm Gate, dubbed Champions of Yore 2 and featuring series favorite Roy.
You can pay $2.50 for the map, or spend $4 to buy the Champions Pack. The latter contains the first and currently free map, Champions of Yore 2, and the third not-yet released chapter with Micaiah.
The fantastic artwork above of “Marth,” by the way, comes from Poiv.
You can also be Totoro, Marth, Ness, and Mona Lisa in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

There is a lot of Fire Emblem: Awakening fanart I’ve found and wanted to share with you lately, but most of it is filled with spoilers. :o/ You’ll have to settle with my shipping updates from the game’s support convos on our Twitter in the meantime.

A group of Nintendo dudes riding the subway. Unfortunately, the only name I’ve seen to credit this art to is the white “Vicki” inscription on the bottom right.
I’ve talked about subways a lot here lately, and I’m not sure why! Cincinnati (the uneventful city I call home) doesn’t even have anything resembling a decent mass transit system. Anyway, subways are great because they give you an excuse to play with friends like Marth and Jigglypuff. You know, your true friends.
Seeing two Links on a train also reminds me that The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks releases in just over a month. How did that happen?
