"Princess Peach" by Masao
Let’s all go into the weekend in this spirit: stretched out on a cushion, just playing whatever makes us happy, whether it’s Fire Emblem or Mega Man 2 – oh yeah, Mega Man 2’s out on eShop this week! – or something from the backlog.

Happy 20th anniversary, Neo Geo! If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the occasion, you’ve no doubt already come across the new Neo Geo Museum website and drooled over the gorgeous t-shirts.
You could also pick up SNK Arcade Classics on your system of choice for dirt cheap, or some Neo Geo games on Virtual Console for… not so cheap. Consider it a donation to SNK. You can even run Neo Geo games on the DS!
And in case you didn’t notice: thanks to Eric’s hard work, we’re sporting our own 100 Mega Shocking Neo Geo tribute art in the header today!

"Rockman (Pin-pon) Dash." I <3 Masao. I thought the image was pretty adorably goofy until I read the title and realized that I had severely underestimated the levels of adorableness and goofism at work here.

Ronald McDonald beats the hell out of the Mario Bros. in MUGEN. I love watching these MUGEN videos, but I suspect I would enjoy playing the game a lot less.

This is probably the best opportunity I’ll ever get to link to some of these Ronald McDonald mashups from Masao. I’m not embedding the images because Eric said the Totoro ones were ruining Totoro for him. Be warned — these are all super creepy. Not like “hahahaha how weird” creepy, but like “why is this on the internet” creepy.

"Tank Engine and Thomas" by Masao. The delightful Masao has posted enough cracked-out new art to warrant another roundup, and I’m so glad! The combination of utterly ridiculous pop-culture/video game mashups with Masao’s detailed style make the art seem kind of … deadpan? Like, it’s wacky as hell, but he delivers it with the artistic equivalent of a straight face. Maybe I don’t actually know what I’m talking about, but I know this:

is basically like treasure. Gotta Hundred-Hand Slap ‘em All!
And now for two celebratory Sega anniversary images, for the Dreamcast’s 10th and the Mega Drive’s 20th:

Fuck yeah Seaman! Fuck yeah, Mr. Yukawa! Thank you, Ulala!

Fuck yeah guy in a Sonic suit! Fuck yeah Opa-Opa! Fuck yeah Tyris motherfucking Flare! SEGA!!!!! While I’m at it, fuck yeah Wonder Pets!
Uh, happy Valentine’s Day!

Masao is pretty well-known around the internet for his weird art and hypermasculine Fist of the North Star-esque Mario Bros., but I had forgotten about the prolific fan-artist until Adam posted some of his work on attractmo.de.
After looking through Masao’s website, I found that in addition to a lot of embarrassing NSFW-type stuff and the kind of bizarro art he’s known for, he has drawn a few pictures that are just awesome, like the Mother 3 image above, and this Mega Man:

Okay, well, I can’t help posting one weird one.

It’s Gachapin as Bulma in Dragon Ball, flashing Muten Roshi in exchange for his Dragon Ball as Goku, played by Gachapin’s pal Mukku, watches in shock! Love it. I have kind of a fascination with Gachapin, though.
