DS/3DS Release Dates & Sales // Tiny Cartridge Stickers For Your Games!

Meat Bun’s new “Cute ‘em Up” t-shirt line, featuring shirts by artists including Mariel Cartwright, Zac Gorman, Paul Robertson, and Ashley Davis, each in multiple color schemes. I’d love to meet the person brave enough to rock that Slime shirt! I know the person brave enough to rock pretty much all the other ones (meeeee).

These shirts are being sold only through Giant Robot (update: for now, anyway.) MB’s Mike McWhertor said they’ll be on the Meat Bun site too, so you’ll be able to choose your web shop.

Meat Bun shirts 31% off today →

It’s too late to get a new Meat Bun shirt for Halloween, but you can order one now for a day in which you aren’t in a costume. For today only, all of the site’s shirts are 31% off (GET IT)!

If you’re feeling seasonal, you can pick up the Samba de los Muertos shirt above for $16.56. I’m pretty fond of the new, black/gray variant of the “4th Gen” shirt, myself. It’s the same price! So cheap!

Game Night 6 features Mighty Switch Force. As always, Giant Robot’s Game Night event looks super fun, featuring a fully WayForward-themed night. This will be the first public demo of the rad-looking 3DS download game, and you’ll also be able to try the other DSiWare/PlayStation Mini games from the company! By the way, Mighty Switch Force’s 3D trailer is on the U.S. eShop right now.

And while you’re there, you’ll get to see (and probably buy) the new line of Meat Bun shirts. BE THERE September 17 at 7PM. And before that, BE HERE to RSVP.

Buy: Nintendo 3DS console (Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue)

Teasers for new shirts by Meat Bun. Is that a Forgotten Worlds shirt? Awesome! I also like the Calvin & Hobbes/Mortal Kombat crossover — Meat Bun seems to have a thing for combining games and comic strips. I’m really looking forward to the explanation of Giger-esque girls making out on a shirt labeled “The Year 20XX.”

These shirts will go up on the store ”in the next two weeks.”

Holiday-themed Game Night in LA →

[Update: Due to rain, Game Night 4 has been rescheduled! :o( We’ll let you know the new date — likely early January — when Giant Robot and Attract Mode announce it!]

It’s the most wonderful time of the yeeeeeear (for LA residents). Giant Robot, Attract Mode, and Meat Bun are partnering for another event I don’t get to go to, this time Christmas-themed!

The holiday merriment will come from a special “X-mas edition” of Super Crate Box made for the event, a holiday-music version of 8-Bitar Hero, Merry Gear Solid, and more.

It takes place today, from 7-10PM at GR2 (2062 Sawtelle Blvd, West Los Angeles, CA). If you plan to check it out, RSVP here. Joys be thine, as a certain Tiny Cartridge writer has been known to say!

Game Night 3 at Giant Robot Los Angeles tonight! If you show up, you’ll not only have a chance to buy a tasty meat bun bento box and the MBxGR Ouendan-inspired shirt, but also to play Super Street Fighter IV and Super Meat Boy projected on a wall. So jealous of LA dudes!

You can read more Game Night 3 details here.

“Osu! Giant Robot” shirt by Meat Bun (click for a larger version). All profits from this brilliant Ouendan tribute shirt will go toward supporting Asian American pop culture magazine Giant Robot.

If you’re a fan of Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents — and I’m not sure how you can be reading this site and not be — grab this $24 tee! It’s not like there are many opportunities to buy Ouendan merchandise in the States.

Import: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! series

Buy: Elite Beat Agents

New shirts from Meat Bun! The theme of this collection is “Wizards ‘n Warriors,” but this seems to have more “utterly fucked-up mashups” than Elrondian knights.

The five new shirts (each available in multiple colors for $24) include things like Golden Axe’s Gilius Thunderhead — who I definitely never thought would be immortalized on a t-shirt — as well as elements from issue 2 of Nintendo Power, and a thoroughly mind-blowing combination of Peanuts, Kid Icarus, and Castlevania II. No, really. That’s a thing you can buy from the internet and put on your body.

An old PSone ad from Japan, one that’s been a longtime favorite of mine, for perhaps obvious reasons!

On a side note, I still have a soft spot for Daily Radar; sure, the writing was nothing stellar, but it provided the pre-YouTube internet with plenty of wonderful Japanese game commercials like no one else at the time; this early, work in progress clip of Rez was what planted the seed in my mind for what would become a full-borne obsession.

Meat Bun has introduced its new “DX” line, ensuring that I get to post about t-shirts again. The three new shirts are fancier versions of popular Meat Bun shirts: “The Four” in Famicom-style gold and red, “Agro Polo” in red velvet on black, and “Fight Night” in black, white, and red on yellow. All three of these designs are amazing, and these new versions are just extra amazing.

I often think about how awesome it would be to design and sell t-shirts, but unfortunately I have absolutely no artistic ability — and, I should note, no damn idea about running a business. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to be content having only one dream job, and getting to spend my time off talkin’ about shirts with you guys, which is pretty great.

Rising Bun →

Oh, awesome! Meat Bun has launched their second series of shirts. This time, the shirts all actually feature Meat Bun identification, making it feel a lot more like a clothing line than just a series of nice video game shirts. I guess. I don’t really know anything about clothes.

Above: the amazing Silent Hill-inspired “Halo of the Bun.” I’m also quite in love with “Shooting for Vengeance,” an unlikely Ikaruga/Meat Bun/Judas Priest mashup.

See also: Meat Bun’s Street Fighter Club t-shirt, also available now in the catalog, in a gorgeous glow-in-the-dark version, no less! And now to decide which one to buy.
