Mega Drive business card holder for $11 →

The Mega Drive business card holder by Banpresto is now on sale at Strapya for $11, with shipments due to go out “towards the end of March.” That’s less than half the last price we saw for the thing, and puts it well into “reasonable” territory.

Which means that it’s also in “selling out quickly” territory.

Mega Drive and Space Invaders card cases from Banpresto. GeekStuff4U is selling them for ¥2,250 ($24.70) each, which is kind of steep for a business card holder, unless you happen to be in a position to trade cards with nerdy dudes all the time. Like if you’re a game developer or a Pokemon CCG champion. They’re due to ship at the end of March.

The Mega Drive one is obviously great, because it looks like a tiny, flatter Mega Drive, but how cool is that red Space Invaders one?

Mahjong Cop Ryuu. How did Robocop and the Terminator end up in some forgettable Japanese Mega Drive game about a cop with “supernatural mahjong powers”?

Genesis Controller Guide →

There are a surprising number of Genesis hardware variations, and even more variations on the controller, both three- and six-button. This Digitpress thread highlights most of the known variants.

They range from minor PC Engine-style “same controller in different colors” changes to drastic “Majesco made this” changes.

New portable Famicom with a PSP-esque design.

Though the text underneath this system’s screen seems to say “Fucker Boy,” this system is actually called Pocket Boy FC-360, a combination of four different console names.

We really can’t stress just how much its design resembles the PSP’s — it even has shoulder buttons molded into its plastic. Maybe the cases were bought from the same place Blazepro purchased its Classic Controller shells?

The Pocket Boy FC-360 plays Famicom carts; here’s a video of the system in action:

There’s also a similar handheld for Mega Drive games, called the Pocket MD (or “Fucker MD,” which is a lot like House, M.D., minus the limp). It’s bad ass:
